About the mother board. It comes with a sound card but i already have a X-FI Extreme Music Card I plan to use. Is there another comparable mother board that supports 1066 DDR2 Memory that is good quality it the price range of this mother board?2. How common is the DDR2 1066 memory i do not see alot of it around. is this a dieing breed? Also there are alot of mother boards that support DRR2 1200 memory but i see there is very little out there.3. In looking at the specs are there any items that in your opinion that over power another component of the completed system? For example mother board over powers CPU or Video Card poorly matches mother board ect.4. This price range of this system is about $1300. Do you recommends placing more $$ in one component and less on another? Edited August 30, 2008 by cumminbk

ripken204
for hard drives get the 640gb WD drives.get 2x2gb of muskin ascent 8500if you really want nvidia then go with the gts, otherwise get a 4870why do you want an x48? do you plan on going SLI? get a P45 instead, such as the P5Q Deluxe.you dont need that big of a psu, get the corair 620 or 650if you want to OC then get a TRUE
cumminbk
@ripken204Thanks for the replyThe video card is a 8800gts I left of the S (typo)Is there a particular reason to go for muskin over corsiar? i see the muskin base price is cheaper than corsairs but corsair is cheaper after the repate they are running. also corsair comes with a flow fan for the memory.I actually did look at the ASUS P5Q Deluxe because it is closer to what i want but i was worry about the memory standard is ddr2 1200. ddr2 1066 is backward compatible i assume but i am worried about having issues with detection and so forth and running at proper speeds? ripken have you ever run 1066 memory in a 1200 standard motherboard? ripken204
i have the ascent 1066 running on a P5Q, it's running very well. also this ram can easily go over 1100 and even 1150 for some people.

puntoMX
Check out these:SAPPHIRE 100244L Radeon HD 4850 512MBASUS EAH4850/HTDI/512M Radeon HD 4850That would give you some extra power and quality for your money, besides that, it the last gen of ATI products and would sure blast the 8800GTS away .Also check this topic.
