Sorry if I don't feel like wasting almost all of my new hardware "just because it's there"... I don't buy new hardware to run a new OS, I buy it to run things faster. In other words, "on new hardware" should be nowheres in _any_ discussions regarding how to make Vista run well.

And that is fine, it is your opinion. But most of us who like to run Vista will do so on newer hardware, and as such this is for us.
