Vista OEM bothers for activation after using vLite

Recommended Posts

I am using the new vLite 1.2 Beta with an OEM version of Vista Ultimate.

After using vLite i always get the 30 days activation limit, even if i don't use Unattended setup.

Any help would be appreciated.

you still need a CD KEY and still need to activate with an OEM version

I've never seen a laptop/desktop come with a vista dvd myself, but I can only assume it reads the activation info from the bios if vista was preinstalled just use the key on the side of the pc, or underneath the laptop, thats always worked for me

If you still have the original OEM installation installed or can install it from a factory restore, then you can use this nice little utility that will backup the license and certificate from your computer and then restore it after you have installed your vLited version. You can burn the backup onto your DVD and run a script to automatically apply it after Windows is installed.
