Okay, this is what you need to :

Open a CMD (with admin rights).

Type the following:

**note: this is going to erase everything off the HDD**

diskpart

list disk

**now look in that list for your disk, in this example I'll use disk 1**

select disk 1

clean

create partition primary

select partition 1

format fs=ntfs quick

active

exit

exit

Now copy the content of your Windows DVD to the HDD and boot it, easy as that!

Good Luck, and Take Care!

Hi Rik!

I've already tried that and got something like this!

"Invalid system disk

Replace the disk, and then press any key"

hi guys,

I have a 250GB 2.5" SATA drive in a USB enclosure. I really want to make it so I can boot off the usb drive and install it from that instead of the slow DVD. can anyone help me with this? thanks in advance!

You need to have only one primary partition and marked as active for your usb hard drive. that's it.(whatever ntfs or fat)

after in your bios you have to change the boot drive to select your usb HDD once you have copied the install file in the root of the HDD.
