hello

is there any benchmark comparison between Xeon Harpertown, AMD Opteron, AMD Phenom, and Intel Core 2 Quad?

I know there is a server vs desktop processor comparison, but I would like to know, since they have the prices roughly

Specificaly I would like to know how do these compare:

Intel Xeon E5405 Harpertown 2.0GHz

Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 Kentsfield 2.4GHz

AMD Phenom 9500 Agena 2.2GHz

thanks

I've logged onto Toms Hardware CPU charts last couple days and they have the Phenom 9500, 9600 and 9700. I'm sure they've had the Core 2 Quad Q6600 for awhile. Throughout the years (haven't checked in a year) I don't recall any Server chips in the CPU charts. But I'm sure they do have extensive reviews on server chips from time to time.

Or check out these:

In bookmarks but haven't visited in quite awhile (don't even remember some):

Going to be selling 3-5 desktops and then planning on getting a desktop quad core pc. Probably will go with the Phenom since AMD needs some help. Unless Q6600 is noticeably better for Dragon Naturally Speaking 9.

Hope it helps.

You would like to wait for AMDs new stepping for the Phenom, and replace the Q6600 for a Q9300.
