do cleaning the sp1 install by vistasp1cln.exe.

did u "sysprep /oob /generalize" ed the VM b4 capturing the sp1 install ??

dont know what you mean by that m8

i followed this guide : http://www.winbeta.org/comments.php?catid=1&id=9536

But it doesnt give me detailed instructions to do it from a VMware Install then SP1 installed then How to create the Install.wam

could you possibly help me, do you have msn ? a walk though would be sweet... if you have msn we can chat realtime cheers.

itis not install.wam but install.wim

after the sp1 install is completer run vsp1cln.exe to clean up the install

customize the install as u like

then open cmd (with admin privilage)

and run ""sysprp /oobe /generalize

and shutdown the machine

boot with winpe cd and capture the install

I did the reverse integration and its easy:

If you have 2 hard disks, install Vista to the second one, enter audit mode, install SP1, run vsp1cln.exe, close audit mode, boot into the first hard disk, and capture with imagex the drive where vista was installed. You can change the boot order for the hard disks into the Bios.

BTW, using virtualization for install Vista-install SP1-capture will be slower that install it in a second disk / second partition
