sorry for my english, but is because am mexican...

and i dont understand english to 100%

you can separate the boot.wim

first you should be know that boot.wim contains 2 images

1.-Longhorn winpe

2.-Longhorn setup

(read about imagex line comands)

download microsoft WAIK, install it

open cmd pe and write this replace with yyou paths

--------

c:

cd c:\archivos de programa\Windows AIK\Tools\x86\

imagex /info H:\PE\winpe_x86\winpe.wim

---------

and you see the images that contains your boot.wim

then you can export the images with mountrw comand

--------

create new folder and rename to "mount"

open cmd pe in waik options

---------

c:

cd c:\archivos de programa\Windows AIK\Tools\x86

imagex /mountrw h:\sources\boot.wim 1 h:\mount

::Modify any files that need to be modified in the h:\boot1 directory

when you finish of modify just unmount

--------

c:

cd c:\archivos de programa\Windows AIK\Tools\x86\

imagex /unmount h:\PE\winpe_x86\mount /commit

---------

mount the second image with the same form

there is the form...

if you wish you can make the vista install look very cool

Did the idea of sharing your found result so that another user searching for this same topic will find it here cross your mind?

Oke i've lookt back what i did to make it work.

First unpack with WAIK the image file from BOOT.WIM what you need, attention! some vista versions has 2 images inside it and some only 1.

Then find in the F:\Boot\sources the file spwizimg.dll

Use PE Explorer to open it!

You will see 2 maps inside, one with Bitmaps thats what we need!.

You see a lot of pictures but we need number 517.

Dubble click that picture and you can change it with a semilar picture.

Save everything , unmount the BOOT.WIM file back and use it in your Vista Image. :thumbup
