Just wondering if anybody has made a Vista Update Pack with all the critical updates since it's release?

Something like xable XP pack (but for Vista) would be perfect.

Something that can be used with Vlite I mean.

Cheers,

Paul.

I have seen many such packs.Search google. You should find one or two.The one i used 2007 summer had all files .cab so integration should not be a problem.Personally id rather wait for final SP1

thats the one i was on about, theres loads more in the x86 one.

My x64 pack has all the same hotfixes that the x86 has and even one more for patchguard. The reason mine doesn't include every hotfix under the sun is some people were having setup hangs from hotfixes that didn't apply to their systems. I never had that issue but my Vista does run better without all the extras in it.

it's called 'SP1' it'll be released around feb/march time :)

i wouldn't touch 3rd party hotfix packs for vista with a barge pole, unless ryanvm made it

Why is that? Its only a matter of integrating the required ms patches like anyone would a real no brainer???

Well, so far next to nothing from the RyanVM camp on Vistax86, x64 or Windows Server 2008x86 and x64. I personally can vouch for Fox's update packs at Fox's Extreme Tech Forum and would have to say (even though if you go to Ryan's forum which is great for XP and older OS's that not only is the best thing going for these modern OS's hyperlinked to Fox's forum, but I have had my issues with other individuals packs posted through Ryan's forum as I have tested them; though there is one individual that appears to simply be stealing Fox's update packs...) that to me it would seem risky pulling resources from Ryan or anyone else there as Fox has been doing this pretty well since the advent of these OS's and you would be pretty much taking your chances with a neophyte in that regard if you go with someone else's update packs; unless of course they are merely improperly stealing them from Fox...

Just my two cents worth and I have been using his updates to integrate OS's with vLite for over a year now with not a single problem to report. Not to mention there are some great resources on the forum with regard to WAIK / first boot automated install integration with one's vLite build... He and the other administrators and moderators support the stuff wonderfully too. It also appears he plans to support W7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 as well.

So, unless your "barge pole" is hitting the Fox's Extreme Tech Forum thread via the RyanVM forum that links to Fox's forum (so yes, in a way they are "coming from the RyanVM forum" as his forum is hyperlinked in a thread there...) IMHO you are missing out on a rich repository of wonderful update packs devoid of bloat and that simply "just work..." :hello:
