last weeked I reinstalled xp home on my cousins computer from all the malware he got and was slow after removal. I didn't want to waste my whole weekend trying to track down the issue and there wasn't much on the system except home work, so I backup up my documents and reinstall.

I setup a user account for them this time and set as limited user after I've installed all the software they use under my account and password my account. I take it over there makes sure it works and all is well. I leave and as soon as I get home I get a phone call saying they can't logon to the computer.

I get down there to a black screen and press the power button and it logs off and shuts down properly.

I power up and the widows logo comes up and the progress bar is churning and then the screen goes blank like it's going to the logon page and it just hangs there doing nothing? I press the power button and it does a normal logout shut down, just no graphics show up?

any ideas before I wipe the system yet again?
