DrDWithaPHD Posted December 1, 2007 Share Posted December 1, 2007 (edited) I'm not sure if this is where i'm supposed to post this?What i'm trying to accomplish is the followingI want to boot on a dvd and it will come up with a menu asking what i want to installe.g. xp sp2, office, worpad. etcK I used Autorun Design to create an autorun cd with menusNow i need to make it bootable.I tried using nero and pointing it to boot.img and it did mot workThis is how my dvd is setup right nowboot directory contains the following filesautorun.exe, autorun.ico, autorun.inf <--- files creeated by autorun designthen i have the following directoryAutorunScr <---this is where all the menu, picture are stored from the autorun design prgOffice 2007 <-- contains all office 2007 setup filesWin XP <--- contains all of win xponce i burn the following disk i get the following error missing NTLDRbut if i move all of the directory win xp into the root directory I canboot the cd, but i go right to the installation of win xp.What i want is to see first is my autorun menus.ThanksNavop Edited December 1, 2007 by DrDWithaPHD Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
jaclaz Posted December 1, 2007 Share Posted December 1, 2007 You seem to be confusing "Autorun" with "BootCD", they are VERY different things.You simply CANNOT boot a XP from DVD, though you may be able to boot a PE (WinPE, BartPE, UBCD4WIN, etc,) or Windows XP SETUP (install) from a DVD.But this won't help you much anyway, since you cannot install a program, say Office, to a non-booted OS on the hard disk.Maybe what you need is a CD multibootloader with two choices :1) Load XP SETUP2) Load XP from hard disk and then access your autorun menujaclaz Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
