smartie91 Posted November 18, 2007 Posted November 18, 2007 hiI have 2 machines one is a AMD Athlon 2500+ 1.83 mhz with 2 gig memand the other is a AMD Athlon 2400+ 2.04 mhz with 2 gig which machine is the fastest pleaseSmartie91
redxii Posted November 18, 2007 Posted November 18, 2007 If that 2500+ is a 333MHz FSB and the 2400+ is a 266MHz FSB, then I'd have to say the 2500+ @ 1.83GHz and a 333MHz FSB is faster.
puntoMX Posted November 18, 2007 Posted November 18, 2007 Well, I would say the 2400+ CPU, more clocks on the same CPU structure, although we are talking about different cores here but with the same logic, would give you more "power".But, all depends on your applications, chipset, RAM, VGA and OS... And almost forgot, your HDD...
D_block Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 how much L2 cache does the both processors have, whats the mother board FSB speed , yuh have to state this too
Kelsenellenelvian Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 Use CPU-Z to find this info out if you don't know any other way.
puntoMX Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 He... I dont see much diference in speed between 256kB an 512kB cache, neither in 266 and 333MHz bus.
weEvil Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 Did you say 2500+? Is it the mobile version? If so, you can overclock it to XP 3200+ speeds... if you memory/motherboard allows it.More info with CPU-Z would be helpful.
