Can a BartPE be customized with Apps?

Hi. I'm looking to build a BartPE / WinPE with some apps on it. Some of them are virus scanners, anti-spyware, and backup utilities.

But....

1. How can I add the programs so that they actually run from the disc?

2. If I can't do #1 at all, can I automate an install of the programs? Will they install correctly?

3. Will such security programs be able to scan the real windows installation usually located on C: as usual?

I've got loads of stuff on mine, spybot, avg, ghost, ability to edit the registry of the hard drive, do system restores, etc.
