Can this file be opened directly by the WUD application or does it have to be loaded ala the website - which is not working for me again. I can get to the UL page - then when I click on an update file...I go back to the UL page...no file gets loaded into WUD.

Cheers!

VP

this is a .ul file. meaning it has to be unzipped, then pasted in to the wud folder where the other UL files reside. only .ulz can be auto-installed.

Just thought I'd mention that a ulz file is simply .zip with the extension renamed to .ulz, so you could always rename your upload to .ulz to allow people to install directly to the program folder.

one of these years I'll update this. but I don't have high speed any more so that complicates things immensely.

also most people have moved on to vista x64 or 7

Hello All,

Apologies if no use, and hope you don't mind me using yours as a basis 64ninjas.

The attached file, is based on a search using the MS Security Bulletin Search, using the below criteria:

Website url: http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/current.aspx

Product/Technology: windows xp professional x64

Service Pack: sp2

update severity: all checked

Gives a total of 196 updates in total.

This includes all those that have been superseded and also useful extras like IE7 & IE8 & .net ....

[edit]

attached file only worked in IE not Firefox x64. doh!

Here is an updated one as of Aug 4, 2010. I have included all updates that are required from Windows Update so some of them have no security references. Superseded patches have been removed. Some patches have been lumped them into category 1 as I cannot find the security bulletins. Some errors from the March 2 .ulz causing the application to abort have been corrected.

Any easy way to quickly check if a certain patch has been superseded?

- Attached 2010 August version. You may need to remove the date from the .ulz file name
