MemTest

Hi,

I decided to test my memory with MemTest.

I burned the bootable CD, restarted & started the test.

When I realized it will take several hours, I decided to stop & redo the test at night.

When I woke-up this morning, Vista was logged on.

Does it mean the test finished? Failed?

Is there a log anywhere?

I dunno. Probably isn't because it failed. Sounds like probably because the CD wasn't being recognised.

what memtest are you using? memtest86 and memtest86+ do not have a finish line and will continue doing passes endlessly. it wont exit unless you hit the 'esc' key or your pc resets. also I dont think it should take 10 hours, maybe 1 for a full test, though it may depend on your memory. next time take a note of the test duration, # of errors, and # of passes.

1 hour isn't sufficient! You're required to run it for 12 hours!

In my experience, if you don't find an error within one hour, you probably won't find one within 12.

Around an hour and a half is where you at the least should check.
