Tripredacus
Since Virtual PC 2007 does not work with Win PE properly, are there any other VM software out there I can use to deploy a WIM file? I need one for testing since Ghost did not work properly in VPC.
Jazkal
I use VMWare Workstation. But I don't see why the free Server version wouldn't work.

Tripredacus
I use ghost and PE just fine in VPC.I have a drive image for Ghost that is has 3 files, in VPC, ghost would time or give an error somewhere in the 2nd spanned file. THis was when all 3 files were put on a DVD. When I used the fshare, Ghost timed out when it couldn't find the second spanned file (although it was in the same folder). I tried WinPE in VPC because I also have a WIM of the image, but the WIM is on the hard drive and I couldn't get VM additionals to work and let me see the local folder. zorphnog
I've used VPC to mount an iso of my WinPE boot with ghost and spanned files, and to boot from network (PXE) into WinPE and restor spanned ghost files from the network. In both cases I have had no trouble.
sunny1552
Yeah seems that WIN PE2 has some problems applying Xp WIM. I had tried twice to make the image and apply it on both fresh PC and VPC & Virtual Server both times it successfully applied the image. But after booting it either showed BSOD or Hanged. But the WIM image works in VirtualBox Virtual Machines.
