sam13484
I have two computers and I've seen the same thing happen on both of them.First I do a clean install of Windows XP.Once the desktop comes up on first boot, I install SP3 3205.Reboot and back to the desktop. Then I start installing my drivers, in this order:chipsetvideomonitornetworkaudiomodemThe audio drivers refuse to install under SP3 3205.If I install the audio drivers first and then SP3, there are no problems. The drivers for the first machine are for onboard Realtek. The drivers for the second machine are for onboard Sigmatel. Can anyone tell me why these audio drivers will not install? Everything else installs fine. I'm really stumped with this.By the way, in both cases, the audio drivers are the most current ones available.Thanks. I also tried to install it, but it doesn't work. Hope someone could find a workaround.

mahe06
hi.am using the windows xp sp3 build 3180.i experienced the same prob, wen i integrated the sp3 directly over original xp, after that wen i installed the xp it works fine without no prob. but i noticed there was no audio.since sp3 does not have a patch ofr high definition bus.it will be bit tricky to install the audio.if u need to install audio drivers follow these stepsfirst of all go to device manager.since in sp3 the HD audio is not detected, but it will show that device as pci unknown hardware.you right click on it click update driver, then you need the kb835221 patch. you extract the patch kb835221 to a separate folder, then direct your unknown hardware to update the HD.inf file in the extracted path kb 835221.then it will install the hardware and your new hardware will be detected as HDBUS, then you install the audio drivers for it. now it will work like charm.:)
