johnhc
TranceEnergy, I ran the Java install like this and it seems to be fine. Thanks, John.D:\AddOns\jre-6u10-windows-i586-p.exe IEXPLORER=1 ADDLOCAL=ALL /qn /NoRestartD:\AddOns\jre-6u10-windows-x64.exe /qn /NoRestart
TranceEnergy
I think the additional IEXPLORER=1 and addlocal arguments are not necessary. As jre works in either IE or portable firefox here, just fine regardless. And im all for keeping things as simple as they can be.
johnhc
TranceEnergy,I agree with the minimal approach, but in this case I don't understand the switch ADDLOCAL=ALL, so I hesitate to remove it.Thanks, John.
AmdM
Sorry m8´s, but it´s time to a real noob question, since im one .What exactly it´s suposed to do with [Run1_XP-64.bat]?Is that to create a file? How?And put it where?Tx
johnhc
AmdM,The Run1_XP-64.bat file is placed in your source folder along with the AddOns and other folders described on page 1 of this topic. This is parallel (at the same level) with the i386 and AMD64 folders. Run1_XP-64.bat is called via the GUI RunOnce code out of nLite's Unattended section (see page 1 also). You can add or subtract programs being installed by this .bat as you wish.Enjoy, John.

Sun's page with silent install instructions is here, but as you can see it doesn't go into great depth.AmdM:Unless otherwise noted, just place the original installer file at \AddOns for those applications that are supported. You can use the various addon .cab files that others have made (very useful for those programs without decent silent install options), but you will have to extract the actual executable and place that at \AddOns while adding the installation command (from entries*.ini within the .cab file) to Run*_XP-64.bat. johnhc
Kurt_Aust, thanks for the reply but it is really strange it works for you and not me. Since the install is silent, I see no error just no Java in Add/Remove or in the Control Panel. Thanks, John.

TranceEnergy
Could you comment on WindowsServer2003.WindowsXP-KB954600-x64-ENU.exe ? I already had the others. Is it necessary if one do not even use the old media player 6.4 for streaming? I dont think i've ever used it for that. Just curious here.
