OK, I buy it!

For several weeks I try to install XP64-bit on a 16GB USB 3.0 Stick on my netbook.

Nothing works! It is an Medion Akoya E1318T (MD 99330).

Please, can anybody tell me how to make it run?

Is there any "all-together-plug-in" for nLite to download?

Nothing works!

That's a very poor description of your problem. Are we supposed to guess if you have difficulties with nLite, with installing from USB (or "on USB"???) or if the problem is your specific laptop or if it's because you use XP64?

What do you expect that "all together plugin for nLite" to accomplish ?

Don't reply here, please open an other thread with minimal description of what ever you've done up to now and where you're stuck.

Hello Ponch,

excuse my bad english. Is it possible to get this created version of XP-x64? Can somebody send me an image?

I have a version of XP-x64. So, if there are concerns about copyright - Is it possible to send me a file with all the drivers

and adds you've made on this thread, to make my version up to date?

Would be nice if somebody could contact me via PM, then you can erase my postings here. - Thank you so much.

If your question is "can someone do everything for me?", the answer is "probably not". Apparently you have not taken the time to read my answer, so I won't bother either. Good luck.

Windows operating systems are not redistributable. These topics for nLite are to help those who use the program, and no where is there an offer to create a custom Windows installation for other people to download or share.

Clarification -

1 - Have available you OWN XP Disk (you said you have it) and Key

2 - Get all updates listed (also see Windows Updates Downloader)

3 - Get you Machine Specific Drivers (YOU do that!)

4 - Get nLite (the Tool), use it to Integrate #2+#3 into #1 - Now you have it. ;)

* - Add-Ons (optional software) can be obtained from other sources. Note that nLite explains how to create them yourself, as well as many other sites provide details. Add-Ons can also be integrated with nLite provided that it's correctly constructed. There is -also- Windows Post-Install Wizard (WPI) tool that can be used to install any Optional Software.

No files are hosted on MSFN.

#1 you must already HAVE and OWN (with your OWN Key).

#2 you must obtain from Microsoft or via a Downloader (e.g. W.U.D.). Note that these DOWNLOAD from MS directly (legally) and do NOT host files either.

#3 you -should- already have -or- you must get from the Hardware Manufacturer.

#4 - you get from nliteos.com. Note the requirement of dotNet in order for it to be able to run.

Summary - we don't distribute or else it would be warez. We DO, however, point you to where to -legally- get everything (except #1). Please go to the top of any MSFN page and click on "MSFN Etiquette" for our Rules.

HTH

edit - To Install XP -from- USB, you will have to go to another SubForum on MSFN. To install -to- USB, this is a bit trickier. You'll have to clarify that.

-FROM- USB to HDD - http://www.msfn.org/board/forum/157-install-windows-from-usb/

-TO- USB (not the PC's HDD) - ask in above sub-forum.

There was also a revoke certificate roots update (KB2917500) but Microsoft misconfigured the version number and hence Windows Update overwrites it with an older version. As this is not an operating system vulnerability and the CA system is hopelessly broken anyway it will not be fixed, hopefully they'll get it right next time.

Applications

The latest version of VirtualBox (4.3.14) has a major dll injection bug (main forum post has 440+ comments), in my case launching it results in the attached errors so stick with 4.3.12 for now.

post-137148-0-34496900-1408157470_thumb.post-137148-0-04003900-1408157858_thumb.

Microsoft has rather rudely kicked users (even paid) of old versions of Skype off the network, however the latest version crashes on launch with a DEP error. How they can use development machines that don't enforce AlwaysOn DEP is beyond me, so I've put in a direct link to the previous version.

I normally create a test install media the weekend before patch Tuesday just to test for incompatibilities in the newly released versions of the supported applications.

That's when I came across the problem with VirtualBox, in trying to diagnose it I also found that if one uninstalls Slysoft's AnyDVD all of one's DVD drives disappear (yellow icon in device manager) - since reported and fixed.

Microsoft has pulled KB2982791 (MS14-045 Kernel-Mode Drivers) due an issue where some computers won't restart, although it only seems to affect Windows 8.1 for now.

Applications

Last month's issues with VirtualBox and Skype have been fixed by new releases

Google's Chrome browser is now available in an x64 build which is somewhat faster and should be more secure, but drops support for 32-bit plugins (Flash, Java &VLC are supported though)

Kurt_Aust, the Flash links in you posts are now dead.  I found them here, at the bottom, after much searching.  What I have been unable to find is a link(s) to Flash for x64 browsers.  Perhaps your skills, far better than mine, can help.  Thanks for all your contributions to modifying Windows installations.  Enjoy, John.

Forum question:  This is my first post with this editor.  Is there a spell checker?

What I have been unable to find is a link(s) to Flash for x64 browsers.

To my knowledge there are 2 installers; one for IE (_ax) and one "non IE" (Firefox, Chrome, etc...). Each is for both x86 and x64.

If there is any reason they went from 2MB to 20MB in a few years, this might be one (not that Adobe needs any :angel ).
