Making fully updated Windows XP CD [Guide of some sort]

I suggest that you run RyanVM .NET Framework All-In-One Package BETA2 and all updates via RunOnce. Make sure that all-in-one pack goes first.

Can you help me with that too? Initially I tried using RunOnce but it didn't work. I use RunOnce for the Root Certificate updater, but the other .NET stuff refuses to work.

Can you try to install these updates manually to see will it disappear from WU. Maybe updates are outdated, I did not check is there something new for it.

hi all ;p

so i cant believe ive been installing and reinstalling windows so many times for the past few years without ever hearing about any program like this ;p

few newbie questions...

1st, do i just add all of those files to the nlite run once tab, or is it even easier than that?

2nd, how do I add driver files, specifically nvidia graphics drivers that use an exe and include a bunch of files and utilities?

3rd, whats the point of downlaoding these other files from ryanvm?

First you need nLite. nLite have page named Hotfixes. You will add all hotfixes on that page (except those which I point that needs to be installed via RunOnce). You will add drivers using page in nLite named Drivers. Before that you need to extract nVidia package to some folder using 7-zip or some other program and then to add it from that folder.

And about Ryan things: Ryan packages contain all post SP2 updates, but he did not update his packs almost 3 months or more. So I add to this list his packs and updates that are published after his pack.

Could not find the WGA one. Not sure what that is for to tell you the truth. Windows Genuine Advantage? Not sure what the Root Certificate Update or Security Update for Microsoft XML Core Services 6.0 and Service Pack 1 (KB933579) are for either. I'm interested in knowing though.

And I only want to update to WMP10 (I don't like WMP11), but I'm not sure where to find an addon that will work with the current version of nLite. Anyone know of one with all the relevant hotfixes included?

I guess if you wanted to be complete about things, you could include the driver packs too. I just use Lenovo System Update, so I don't know about those.

I was initially going to add all this using the newest version of RyanVM Integrator (v1.5.1), but if I can do it all just as well with nLite, I would rather do that. (MrNxDmX's IE7 Addon says it isn't compatible with the newest version of RyanVM Integrator yet, so I might have had to use NonnoFabiao's located here: http://www.ryanvm.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4847) I think I will still have to manually add RogueSpear's Runtimes - Part 2 to RunOnceEx either way right?

You could nor find it? That is RyanVM WGA Addon 1.7.18.7a in first post.

Since you are not sure which IE7 addon to use, I recommend you not to use any of it. Use nLite to integrate IE7 directly into source. This will save disk space and time of installation will be shorter.

And I don't want to include DriverPacks. I only put on the list what shows on Windows Update.

Okay, I'm a little closer now. I just have a few more questions:

1. What is the Root Certificate Update for? I tried searching Google, but most of what I found was very confusing.

2. I am a little confused about how to integrate .NET 3.0. I will be using RogueSpear's Runtimes and RogueSpear's Runtimes Part 2. I'm fairly certain, you can just integrate the first part with nLite like any other addon. Just put the 0_RogueSpearsRuntimes.exe in the "hotfixes and addons" window. For the second part, I know you have to integrate it using RunOnceEx. I'm also planning on using the script pack (not all of it). Do I just add the ScriptPack_V107.rar and the ScriptPackAddonsRogueSpearsRuntimesPart2_1.5.0.zip to the hotfixes screen as well and this will take care of it?

When I integrated latest RyanVM pack this appeared on WU so to get fully update Windows you need this and it is not optional update. And thanks for pointing on updated DirectX.
