Modifying AD Fields

Is there anyway to modify actual fields in AD? We would like to keep Hardware inventory in Active Directory.. I have

used Admodify in the past but it only allows you to change data in AD..

ADSI edit would be the closest thing to what you are looking for

Could also use ldap editing tools...ldapeditor is a decent one, lets you import/export easily.
