Classic Start Menu & Adjust for best performance

vim

Recommended Posts

I'm sure this has come up before and I have search both here and abroad. All to no avail.

I'm trying to accomplished what the below picture shows through nLite. But every time I

try it I still get the new XP Start menu, and I can't get the "Adjust for best performance"

to work.

Anyone have done this? Thanks.

1) In Tweaks, under Visual Effects, you'll have to "Disable" all those options. I don't believe there's a single Off switch, so to speak, that does them all at once.

2) To make the menu classic, that'll be performed in the Unattended settings. Either select that with nLite or edit WINNT.SIF in Notepad.

[Shell]
DefaultStartPanelOff = Yes
