not seeing drive on laptop with install

I need some help, I fixed this problem a long time ago but I can't remember what I did to fix the problem. My laptop has a sata drive and when I try to do a new install of windows xp there ids no drive to select for the install.

You need to integrate the SATA Drivers as "textmode"

tell me the make & model of the laptop, and what windows your are using please and i will get them for you

Its a gateway mx8715 and I trying to install windows xp.

64bit or just normal home/pro?

if you want the link to all your drivers just say and ill post the link

Below is the drivers for normal 32bit windows when you integrate them using nLite you might get a popup asking either textmode or pnp, select textmode

:)

P.S you dont have to start a fresh nLite source and can just add on top of a already nLitened XP

Either integrate the drivers for your SATA controller as mentioned above.

Or a simpler way out is to go into your laptop's BIOS/CMOS setup, and make the SATA run in compatibility mode or win95 mode, or old-interface, or whatever the option is named..... this will let your XP "see" the hard-disk & after install completes, you can change back to the SATA-normal mode in BIOS (and install your laptop driver CD after reboot).
