Hello guys, I'm having problem with my windows XP Pro. The problem is quite complex, i'm trying to explain as clearly as i can and hopefully ppl over here can help to resolve the problem

The situation is when i turn on my computer, it leads me into black screen where it ask me which configuration i want to choose (safe mode, safe mode with networking, safe mode with command prompt and bla bla that kind of screen) i guess you guys should familiar with that screen. Anyway when i click either one of them, my system always keep restarting to that black screen again asking which configuration that i want to choose.

So i decided to reformat the hard drive so i put in my Win XP PRo CD and reboot using the CD it got me into the blue screen that ask me whether i want to install or repair or quit. IF i click install or repair it leads me into blue screen error saying that windows has found error on ntfs.sys and under Technical informations it says

"STop: 0x00000050 (0xE11C1000, 0x00000000, 0xF74BEE89, 0x00000001)" .

NTFS.sys - address F74BEE89 base at F7451000,datestamp 3B7dc5d0

My question is how do i fix this? and what start this restart loop?

hopefully you guys can understand what i'm trying to say hehehe

thank you

read this ...........

STOP errors

0x00000050: PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA

This bugcheck indicates that invalid memory has been referenced.

This problem is typically caused by one or more faulty memory modules, one or more faulty processors, buggy drivers or kernel-mode services, registry hive corruption, or paging file corruption.

Parameters

No. Description

1 Memory address referenced

2 0: Read operation

1: Write operation

3 Address that referenced memory (if known)

4 Reserved

Troubleshooting

See generic solutions 1: Memory test, 2: Scan the system drive for errors, 3: Last known good and 4: Registry roll-back.

You may also need the assistance of a technician that is able to use a debugger on the crash dump file(s) (typically stored in %Systemroot%\Minidump) in order to determine which driver, service, process, or hardware device is at fault.

k now how do i fix this? i can't even start the windows. everytime it goes into the Windows XP Logo then the system reboot itself again.. i can't even go into the Welcome screen. I try to use my old hard drive as a master then use the problem hard drive as a slave. However this way is not working also. when i connected the problem hard drive as a slave, it still rebooting and give me stop error message. but when i disconnect the problem hard drive and just use my old hard drive it works, i can use windows XP. my question is how do i reformat my problem hard drive?

from memory, stop 50 i remember is bad ram, right? that would make sense why the file system is not loading. check out your ram. add the /maxmem= setting to your boot.ini (such as /maxmem=96 to use 96 megs of ram). You can do this is recovery console using the tool bootcfg. If that works then it's def bad ram, that's my vote.
