Does anyone know you can, or know where i can find the relevant i for customizing the partitioning part of the Windows 7 installer I cant find any info on this part of the setup process, does it use a diskpart script in the background or is it a custom partitioning built i to the setup and such? The main reasons i want to play around with it: i want to be able to customise it so i can potentially optimise it better (if it is doable i imagine it would be the same process in the win 10 installer, since it’s seems to be based on the same code and the default win10 boot partitions are done badly and it would save me manually diskparting them later) Plus i plan on doing some windows xp installs in wim format to install via the win 7 installer And win xp requires some specific parameters for the partitioning Any info is welcome, thanks
Hey, I've got an big problem! I just did a clean install of Windows 10 on my computer and now I tried to set all up I need, but all MSI Installer are freezing after a while. Mostly while the Windows Installer are displaying, that it "Create new shortcuts". Of course, I reboot my computer and tried again, but I still have the same issue, but then Windows is telling me, there is another failed installation of any other program and this one will be abort and all the already copied files will delete. Any idea? Mirco
I have always used WPI for my installation needs. The problem for me was to update installers. So I have found this software: Ketarin that can help you to automatically update installers. I think that is the missing tool for WPI.
Hi! I found a while ago an old NT4 cd. Now I'm trying to install it on my main pc, but the installation program crashes without bsod immediately after loading all the stuff to memory and then reboots. Some specs: CPU - Intel I5 3570k, Mobo - some Asus p8z77 with UEFI bios 8GB or 4GB of ram (neither works) USB mouse & keyboard Same results with another 3rd gen I5 pc with Gigabyte mobo and 8 gigs of ram Does anyone have idea of what might cause this? Thanks -Jalmari
