  1. Hello Everyone! I have an old laptop (Pentium 4 2.80GHz, 30 GB hard drive, 512MB RAM) where I installed Windows 2000 with KernelEx 2.8c Many programs that didn't work before now work perfectly. Now I would like to install Visual Studio 2010 Express (requires only 2GB). Here's what I did: I downloaded the Visual Studio offline iso file from the internet I downloaded a utility called ImDisk (It allows to emulate a dvd drive when you select the iso) I tried to start the program, it started, but it didn't go far ... Because it gave an error when it tried to install the .net Framework 4.0 Multi-target. On the internet I have found nothing on how to run it on Windows 2000. Anyone knows? Thanks (P.S. I managed to install .net framework 3.5 and .net framework 2.0 SP2)
  2. Hello, this is my first post here, but alas, it is a question. I have recently installed a copy of Windows 2000 Advanced Server SP4 on a Compaq SR5610F which had originally run Vista. After some of Vista's black screens of death it was decided to start fresh... with Windows 2000. After a couple driver problems the computer ran smoothly and I installed Blackwingcat's KernelEX, (Amazing project!) Media player 10, .net framework 1.0-4.0, VC++ 2005-2010 redistributable, IE6 SP1 & 3, Chrome, Firefox, and all post SP4 updates except for an update for Microsoft Data components 2.8 that would not install at all. During this time there was no sound whatsoever on the computer. Windows 98 era speakers that are hooked up correctly and work flawlessly are not at all recognized by W2K. Another set of speakers and headphones were also tested, but to no avail. A new Realtek sound driver was also installed but it didn't help fix the problem. I have been led to believe that the W2K is simply not able to detect the audio device ports on the computer. The computer has one port on the front and another one in the back and none of them are recognized. There are two unknown devices in the device manager that could be the source of the problem. https://imgur.com/4JsBBNC Help is greatly appreciated!
  3. Hi, Is it possible to boot Windows 2000 on UEFI? I know it is possible to boot Windows XP and Whistler Beta 1 on UEFI, but wanted to know if it was possible to boot 2000 on UEFI. One person was able to boot Whistler Beta 1 on UEFI, but struggled with 2296. I tried this on Windows 2000, and followed the same steps shown in NTDEV'S XP UEFI video. When I try to boot it with the Vista 5219 files, I get the 0xc000000f error. What would need to be done to get 2000 running on UEFI? If it isn’t possible, why?
  4. Zoom cloud meetings 3.5.53922.620 will install without problems or necessary registry fakes on w2k exkernel. Download link (I had to spend some time until I found it out): https://zoom.us/client/3.5.53922.0620/ZoomInstaller.exe It will install in documents and settings\*user*\Appdata\Zoom\bin. Then we need to hexedit cmmlib.dll, XmppDll.dll, zVideoApp.dll, search for 3.5.53922.0620 and change these entries to the final version, now 4.6.19253.0401. Then the autoupdate function cannot replace the files with the newer ones which wont work. It should also be possible to install msi file with switch to diable autoupdate. The Application works, there is only one bug left: screen sharing will not work. It produces Error message 105035 "please try later". I also installed the program on Wxp32 and 64, there the screen sharing function works without error. My knowledge about screen sharing differencies between xp und 2kexkernel is not the best, perhaps some people here can help. I begged also blackwingcat with XP last version, but he did not answer. What I did yet: there are no missing dependencies of the files in this version (only mpr.dll), except cpthost.exe is missing dependeny I_RpcBindingInqLocalClientPID (known to be buggy if added in exkernel). Patching cpthost.exe with wrapper rpcXP4.dll from winxp32 has no effect, error still present. All files of zoom are digitally signed, but the signation ist not valid any more because of the time (certificate ended 2019). I consider this to be not a problem, because no other errors. Any thoughts or comments appreciated! Greetings Joe
  5. Hello everyone! in this topic: https://msfn.org/board/topic/178700-visual-studio-2010-on-windows-2000-kernelex/ I talked about my problem with installing visual studio 2010 express on windows 2000. The only problem now is that I can't open it... In fact when I open it says: "Invalid License data. Reinstall is Required." So anyone knows why this happen? I also tried from those sites: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/2673275/how-do-i-fix-an-invalid-license-data-reinstall-is-required-error-in-visual-c https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/9ff4bb25-eb12-4554-bea1-d67683ab535d/message-quotvisual-studio-2010-shell-invalid-license-data-reinstall-is-requiredquot-when?forum=vssetup https://www.c-sharpcorner.com/blogs/invalid-license-data-reinstall-is-required-visual-studio-2010 https://forum.unity.com/threads/if-anyone-is-having-visual-studio-shell-2010-invalid-license-data-reinstall-is-required.298824/ https://superuser.com/q/651261 https://sharepoint.stackexchange.com/questions/80293/invalid-license-data-reinstall-is-required-error-when-installing-sharepoint-2 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NdlZ4R22JwE https://software.intel.com/en-us/forums/intel-visual-fortran-compiler-for-windows/topic/537871 http://gerryhampsoncm.blogspot.com/2016/01/installing-configuration-manager-visual.html https://www.advancedinstaller.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=27839 So, I tried to modify the registry as the seventh link says but it didn't work.... I tried also to install subinacl and modify registry keys Other links says about *.sln files... But I opened only the executable file... So... Anyone knows why and how to resolve this? Thanks
