  1. No it is not expected.

Please attach your preset and I will try it to see what's the point.

So I just use the preset and go to Cpanel-Features to install IIS? Just click the main checkbox, leave it gray or click once more to make it select all subcomponents for install?

  2. Majority of it yes, by entering -extreme switch when starting vLite, you will have a new component listed, Component Cache.

Not recommended to be removed, read the description carefully.

  3. 1.4.1 and newer should have that fixes.

If you did use newer version then attach one of the presets that failed and make sure that you used a clean installation files, without modifications from some other tools or by hand, at least until we figure out what.

Btw to skip the issue simply disable SFC in Options-Patches but I would rather figure out why it happens and fix it, rather than skip it, and maybe you want SFC on.

  4. It was working if pkgmgr is at 50% for dual core cpu.

But 4 hours...maybe your Norton is still running somehow, check if any other process is taking cpu time (also make sure not to make your hdd busy with something else).

  5. LegoLiam™, some hotfixes might work (the ones for which the sxs folders are kept) but you might StumbleUpon™ some that don't even if the component is not removed for them.

Good test would be the RTM with component cache removed and try to install 100 hotfixes :)

Because SP1 does not have a lot of hotfixes to test on.

    I have not reconfirmed.

  6. This is a bug which gets reported now and then and only known solution is to reinstall XP SP2 (or SP3 now) and it will work.

Don't remove Filter Manager with nLite if you do.

If you figure out the cause without reinstall let us know.

  7. Uh there are things like IE7 vs IE6.

First sort all hotfixes by build date by clicking the Build Date column header, then sort these

    D:\WUD\Critical Updates\IE7-WindowsXP-KB938127-x86-ENU.exe

    D:\WUD\Critical Updates\IE7-WindowsXP-KB947864-x86-ENU.exe

    D:\WUD\Critical Updates\IE7-WindowsXP-x86-enu.exe

to be IE7 first then its hotfixes below:

    D:\WUD\Critical Updates\IE7-WindowsXP-x86-enu.exe

    D:\WUD\Critical Updates\IE7-WindowsXP-KB938127-x86-ENU.exe

    D:\WUD\Critical Updates\IE7-WindowsXP-KB947864-x86-ENU.exe

But also move those 3 to the end of the list so you don't risk overwriting files or reg entries with the IE6 hotfixes (which you should remove anyway).

Remove IE6 hotfixes, maybe there are more:

    D:\WUD\Internet Explorer 6.0\WindowsXP-KB938127-x86-ENU.exe

    D:\WUD\Internet Explorer 6.0\WindowsXP-KB947864-x86-ENU.exe

I deleted the GuiRunOnce line in your preset because it had some license number in it.

  8. The alternative way is closer to the truth.

Host can be any Windows, while source installation files can now be up to any SP3 build as well, it works with the RTM 5512. nLite 1.4.5b2 that is.
