just finished nliting a windows xp pro sp2 CD.
after installing the nlite version of windows xp pro
added 5 drivers...
-hpf840k.inf,0
-Hpgblsti.inf,0
-ctgame2k.inf,0
-ULTRA.INF,0
-NCBULK.INF,0
picked provide defaults
added these addon
RVMUpdatePack2.1.9.7z
NR_IE7en_Addon_1.0.3b.wr.7z IE7 vs 7.0.5730.11
ProgramAddons_Adobe_Reader_8.0.cab
ProgramAddons_Microsoft_PowerPoint_Viewer.cab 2007
ProgramAddons_Windows_Media_Player_11.0.5721.5145.cab
when i took the nlite windows xp pro CD out of dvd-rom the icon from the dvd-rom stayed as the windows xp disc
icon even when i changed cd's the dvd-rom icon still shows the windows xp pro disc icon..
for example, when i put in my compuserve disc in dvd-rom drive it should show the compuserve logo but stills shows the windows xp pro disco logo .ico.
albeit when i remove the discs it goes to the normal dvd-rom picture
what up?!
thanks

i havent any clue where the code goes or where to place it in somewhere: regedit /s copytomoveto.reg
l i noticed runonce in nlite unattended section i can put this command: regedit /s copytomoveto.reg phkninja provided but where does the copytomoveto.reg file go
i cant find a step by step guide

if i follow these directions can i replace norton av 2003 in the directions with NAV 2003 Pro??
i can follow the directions for the batch file but it doesnt say where to place it?? where does it go??

how can i add lan-man.exe to nlite to integrate it into my OS????
0 -
how can you add it into nlite so its integrated with the OS?
0 -
found this on nlite's registrytweaks
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\AllFilesystemObjects\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers\Copy To]
@="{C2FBB630-2971-11D1-A18C-00C04FD75D13}"
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\AllFilesystemObjects\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers\Move To]
@="{C2FBB631-2971-11D1-A18C-00C04FD75D13}"
named this copytomoveto.reg
now where do i put this copytomoveto.reg in nlite ? read this at http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=66406 saying copytomoveto.reg has a bug to use export.reg

i entered the serial number to my windows 2000 pro project. i also selected provide defaults, and during an install the serial number shows inside the box that pops up....
by what youre saying is, that it shouldnt have popped up and been visible... but thats what i was looking for in my window xp disc.. i entered the serial number, picked provide defaults and the serial box didnt pop up on install..
why the difference... are you saying it shouldnt have popped up with the serial number in the win 2000 pro disc???
is there a way to get it with the serail number in it and pop up to show the serial like in a ESD piece of software or some retail software...
0 -
no winnt.sif file... i just picked provide default in unattend section of nlite then entered the serial key in the boxes provided on the right...
in my win 2000 pro install the box popped up with the serial key inside visible but when i did the same to my win xp pro there was nt any box that popped up with the serial visible.
i wanted the box visible with the serial inside during install

i nlited my windows 2000 pro. In nlite's unattended mode i picked provide defaults and entered product serial key. When i installed the nlited operating system CD i just made,
i got to the point in the install where the product serial key was visible in the add serial cd key box . this box popped up during install
when i did the same thing for my windows xp pro i couldnt get the serial key box to be visible in the install process.. the product serial key box didnt pop up why, i wanted it to...
i picked provide defaults.. i thought the product serail key box would pop up but it didnt, how can i get the serial to be visible like in my win 2000 pro???

i ran a procedure thru nlite, picked my service packs , hotfixes, etc.. picked direct burn , said its bootable with direct burn. disc is not bootable.
what went wrong????
can i run the same stuff thru nlite again to get to the burn section to reburn it or do i have to start all over again.
running it thru nlite again wont screw it up

thats good to know... i assumed it wasnt updated so much!
on the add-ons i tried several when i did my nlite of windows 2000 and always stopped and froze up at registering components on windows installing with errors 7-zip failed..
when i do the nlite of windows sp2 and add ryans hotfixes what are the some add-on to add to the nlite that are safe?
can i add both addons that end in .cab and .7z
thanks for the updates- R

thanks

in the guide says use the latest hotfixes? how far back can i go to add hotfixes into nlite.. is there a cutoff date that hotfixes cant be added
