great ... the unassociated file name is "1"I'll check it
can i say yes to this? The current log is made with some ECHOs. If I want to echo all to a log I had to echo everything twice. But probably there is a solution to decide - logging OR console-output.
thanks!uuuhhh... spaces in filenames! Yes, i fix it!
can i say yes to this too?the move.log is just a hint where the files come from and what these are. The move.log will aleays be extended. Do you think it's too less information for the move.log?
hmm ... wouldn't have found out 'twas firefox's plugin: adblock plus filter rule: block image ... it's automatically added to the filter everytime it loads the page & restricts the image from loading ... for ie though image can be seenmagic.. I see the image...cheer!

thank you!New version released.I fixed minor bugs with ...msxml6.msi... and ..._SNMsynth.ini... error messages.
Kiki Burgh
Yes, msxml6-KB973686 has the latest files.
Don't know any automated method to verify correct output, even NET Framework setup verification tool proved to be unable to report the bug with 3.5 SP# hotfixes not applying the latests files from the hotfixes, fixed in this release.

Thanks for investigating the error Acheron. New beta is posted up.
my apologies if presentation above was misleading (beta b as outcome). thanks for the more updated beta.Beta C - Acheron set me straight with the processing of the IIS fix. Thanks!0 -
thanks -X-!
yeah it does too since ver 1.0 as documented in ExtrasDoes HFSLIP do add-ons?3. Application addonsApplication addons are programs or utilities reworked into specially crafted CAB or 7z files which contain binaries to be placed in the Windows source, as well as a configuration file explaining what needs to be done with those files and how Windows setup should install them. These addons were originally made for other slipstreaming and integration tools such as nLite, but support was added into HFSLIP as well.
HFSLIP handles three types: those which add files into I386 of which the installation is regulated from SYSOC.INF, those which place binaries into the SVCPACK folder, and those which replace existing files in the Windows source.
Create a folder called HFAAO inside the HFSLIP folder and place the addons (cab files) in there.
For addons in CAB format, you'll need to put Microsoft's EXTRACT.EXE in the HFTOOLS folder. Windows XP users can find a copy of it on their installation CD in SUPPORT\TOOLS\SUPPORT.CAB. Users of Windows 2000 and Windows 2003 can download it free of charge from Microsoft; after you extract the Cabsdk.exe package to a temporary folder, locate the relevant file in the BIN subfolder and copy it into HFSLIP's HFTOOLS folder.
For addons in 7z format, 7za.exe is needed. You can acquire the latest 7za.exe from this page. Download the file of which the description reads "7-Zip Command Line Version", extract 7za.exe from this package and place it in HFTOOLS.
cheers!Complete changelog for HFSLIP 1.0Extras:
* [HFAAO] added support for addons in *.7z format; this requires 7za.exe in HFTOOLS
You can acquire the latest 7za.exe from this page. Download the file of which the discription reads "7-Zip Command Line Version", extract 7za.exe from this package and place it in HFTOOLS.
* [HFAAO] support for addons adding files into i386 *and* non-CAT files into SVCPACK
* [HFAAO] minor update for latest RVM Update Pack versions
* [HFAAO] a few fixes for the slipstreaming of "SVCPACK addons"

appreciate it -X- ... i'm just not sure now if this could be processed in HF ... i recall tc used to have links to updates containing long file names ...
if i have \HFSLIP\HFCABS\LegitCheckControl.cab, would it be safe to say i don't need the other 2?
i just don't like it when i still get instruction to download validation plugins when downloading from ms either using ie8 or ff357 ...
i've seen from your list that you recommend WGA_Validation_AddOn_1.9.40.0-2_-_redxii.7z ...
cheers!

hi! since there is no direct link published by ms (or is there ... for a more current 1 than this file: windowsxp-kb892130-enu-x86_72e487d115be77f49f64053893a23ecb58bc59cb.exe? ) for KB892130, does any of the following cover for it's absence in HF:
\HFSLIP\HFCABS\LegitCheckControl.cab
\HFSLIP\HF\WindowsXP-KB905474-ENU-x86.exe
also, what would prevent validation plug-in from being asked to be installed from within firefox & ie?
though i don't exactly recall if i was prompted using my latest build where i had the following:
\HFSLIP\HF\WGAPluginInstall.exe
\HFSLIP\HF\windowsxp-kb892130-enu-x86_72e487d115be77f49f64053893a23ecb58bc59cb.exe
\HFSLIP\HF\WindowsXP-KB905474-ENU-x86.exe
\HFSLIP\HFCABS\LegitCheckControl.cab
it's quite annoying to go through validation esp when downloading updates from ms (if 1 has genuine os).
raised related concern here
thanks!

indeed running the script this time is faster ... few minor observations though ...2010-01-14- Fixed: Speeding up the process dramatically (now just a few seconds)
after the run there's this file which is left parallel to the other HFSLIP dirs --- "1" (an unassociated file but may be opened by notepad) ... this file is basically similar in contents with move.txt in \HFSLIP\HFSLIPFC.MOV\ except file "1" has header like:
-----------------------------------------------------------
Running HFSLIPFC Build 2010/01/16 at Sat 01/16/2010 10:10:40.89
-----------------------------------------------------------while the former doesn't
just thinking, could the log be something exactly like the one in the cmd window from start:
------------------------------------------
File-Checker (Build 2010/01/16) for HFSLIP
See following site for further details:
people.freenet.de/MisterMoster/hfslip.htm
------------------------------------------to end:
Finished
Press any key to continue . . .though i know we can easily mark all, copy & paste from the dos box ... & appended w/ the findings (result of moving files)
there's 1 file which probably wasn't resolved accordingly by hfslipfc as it resulted to this:
Checking existing updates for wrong, obsolete or unknown:
---------------------------------------------------------
unknown: HFSVCPACK_SW1\XPSEP XP and Server 2003 32 bit.msi
The syntax of the command is incorrect.incidentally, this file was not moved to \HFSLIP\HFSLIPFC.MOV\ even if it was marked as unknown
this next portion you can forego ... it's merely a thought ... hehehe!
tried to run the script the 2nd time (with \HFSLIP\HFSLIPFC.MOV\ & in it move.txt), as expected no file must be moved anymore (since this was addressed during the 1st run) but contents of move.txt remained unchanged ... i was thinking somehow along the notion that a new move.txt would be produced or that current move.txt would be overwritten by a newer 1 (presumably a move.txt that doesn't contain anything any longer (or is empty since no further processing (moving of files) was needed).
lastly, hfslip image doesn't load in
Mimo's Windows XP Service Pack 3 update-list
for TommyP's fabulous <image here>
thanks & cheers!

hi tp! did further checks in: C:\WINDOWS\SoftwareDistribution\Download\ & presenting it here:
hi tp! for me, there's 1 ftpsvc2.dll in C:\WINDOWS\system32 (file ver: 6.0.2600.5875 (xpsp_sp3_qfe.090904-1906)) & another in C:\WINDOWS\system32\inetsrv (file ver: 5.1.2600.5512 (xpsp.080413-0852)) ... seems Security Update for Windows XP (KB975254) concern is apparent in the last stable rel likewise ... hope this helps iron this outCan someone move the ftpsvc2.dll from sys32 to the sys32\inetsrv folder and revisit WU and see what happens?edit: let WU install updates just now ... including KB975254 ... left both ftpsvc2.dll in their current locations ... after restart, checked on the vers again & found out that the 1 in C:\WINDOWS\system32\inetsrv has been updated to 6.0.2600.5875 (xpsp_sp3_gdr.090904-1413)
edit2: tried to remove ftpsvc2.dll from C:\WINDOWS\system32 & re-accessed WU ... no prompt to install KB975254
...\SP2GDR is ftpsvc2.dll (file ver: 6.0.2600.3624 (xpsp_sp2_gdr.090904-1413))
...\SP2QFE is ftpsvc2.dll (file ver: 6.0.2600.3624 (xpsp_sp2_qfe.090904-1414))
...\SP3GDR is ftpsvc2.dll (file ver: 6.0.2600.5875 (xpsp_sp3_gdr.090904-1413))
...\SP3QFE is ftpsvc2.dll (file ver: 6.0.2600.5875 (xpsp_sp3_qfe.090904-1906))
just wondering if adjustments would be necessary (based on feedback above) in the next rel? thanks!

hi Mim0! just wanted to report results of trying out hfslipfc_100115b ... i had the following settings:

but were not ... was there something amiss in my settings for these to be the result? btw, please correct me if i was mistaken but running it the 2nd time (with HFSLIPFC.MOV dir retained as well as move.txt file inside (while leaving FOLDERSET= to default setting this time) only resulted to appending the current number of "unknown" items (making it twice the number of "unknown" instances in the 1st run: i.e., from what used to be 25 to 50) ... wouldn't it be better for this entire dir be deleted & recreated every run of hfslipfc? (i understand there shouldn't be a need to answer my last inquiry as this wouldn't have happened if identified files were moved to the designated directory & parsing it the 2nd time would certainly not produce the results i encountered.) just my thoughts ... cheers!- Fixed: When an unknown file was found, no filename was displayed(comes with 2010-01-14).

hi Muppet Hunter! i am sure that HFSLIP users benefit from having your list & Mim0's list out there (to add to this, i likewise check on -X-'s list) ... & since you are on the path to modifying (or improving) it, a dynamic list used to be maintained by tomcat was very user friendly (it'd be nice to have) ... the_guy too maintained his own (& tommyp & fdv) ... just kinda sad tc & the_guy ceased to maintain it ... but who's to fret when we have the current lists serve the same purpose work such as this is greatly appreciated!

hi acheron, hi tp! i actually checked on this (in my last build using 1.7.9) ... tried installing IIS with FTP & WWW sub-components added & i was able to install it completely ... it's found too in HFSLP277.INF (i386) ... used WinUpdatesList by Nirsoft & it shows it as installed ... however, i accessed WU & it shows as an update needed to be installed ... hmm ...

hi strel! in this case brought up by My2GirlsDad, would there be a way for us to test the end-product so as to validate if all components have been processed accordingly other than testing it either on vm or live install (we can work with the silent installer but either all .nets must be uninstalled (or thru using .NET FX Cleanup Tool) or have not yet been installed prior to running .NET Framework setup verification tool)? have yet to make my iso so i can't confirm any findings yet. thank you!Still having a problem with XP with HFSLIPped CD as only Net 1.1 is installing and verifying. No 2.0, 3.0, or 3.5. This is puzzling. Using all defaults in _SNMsynth.ini except last section which is below:TARGETOS=XP
T13ADDONS=
ROEADDONS=
ALSOINSTALLERS=
MERGEFXS=YES
SILENT=YES
COMPRATIO=
It was working with the previous version. Am I missing something, peoples?

hi Mim0! hope you don't mind if i compared Table 5: Optional updates for Media Player with that of Boooggy and n7Epsilon's WMP11 Hotfix List. by this, there are 2 KBs listed that is not in table 5, namely: KB954067 & KB973442 ... just thought you might like to add these. cheers!

on the dot on 2 counts Martin H. i only mentioned about mbsa for more or less comparison's sake & a little additional info ... cheers!
Hi! I'm pretty sure Kiki was reffering to mbsa(msi), when he said that he had it in HFSVCPACK_SW1... (which isn't required for WU either...)Why do you have it in HFSVCPACK_SW1?0 -
hi Mim0! afaik, this has nothing to do with windows update for it is basically an anti-virus of sort ... mbsa 2.1 would be more likely to fit the bill as
& it serves as
& i have it in HFSVCPACK_SW1. cheers!

displayed flags of members
in Site & Forum Issues
Posted
hello! just like to ask if there's a feature that would enable a hover-like function on flags displayed in member's post, especially for those whose From: entry is not visible? what i do when i see interesting/informative posts (if not check on profile) is check on flags to see the member's country of origin & check on their time-zone as i feel it'd help to post inquiries when time is most appropriate ... however, i do not know each nation's flag so i still look it up to be able to identify it correctly ...
... this is just a wishful thinking
cheers!
