  1. Happy Easter to HFSLIPpers! cheers!
  2. thanks for sharing your experience with motorola surfboard Video Ripper! i'll keep this extra info in mind. submix8c, just a little correction on the link ... from http://192.168.100.1/address.html to http://192.168.100.1/address.asp i have connection now ... thanks again! there's a hardware update for realtek via windows update ... i'm currently downloading & installing it & see if my connection experience after this will be better (like i need not always shutdown & reset the cable modem to be connected). happy easter! cheers!
  3. hi! could be from an unfinished run cheers!
  4. thanks for the immediate reply submix8c! only have 1 self & 1 learned:# Known CPE MAC Address Status 1 00:1a:de:95:f6:ba Self 2 00:ea:01:0f:d6:5f Learned btw, i failed to include in my earlier post that DHCP Client (svc) is started & set to automatic. as far as the cable modem goes: tried leaving it unplugged for a short while, tried shutting it down & restarting it --- still no go update: there are a couple of things that could have solved this: 1. disabled (& re-enabled mcafee security firewall) ??? 2. resetting the cable modem ... pushing the button on top of it (i don't know how different this could be from unplugging/replugging &/or shutting down/restarting it) now though, it'd seem everytime i need to transfer the connection from the desktop to the notebook (acer) & then back, i would need to reset the modem again since the limited or no connectivity status shows up in the pc where the ethernet cable has been reconnected ... could there be a way to work around not having to push reset button everytime i do this as this never happened before? could this be a known issue about motorola surfboard or with acer aspire, in particular? i've yet to test if the same behavior would be apparent when connecting to the other notebook (lenovo) ... appreciate it submix8c ... seemingly trivial yet indeed worth the shot! cheers!
  5. hi! i'd like to seek your advise about internet/LAN connectivity issue ... my wife just received an acer aspire one notebook from her mom ... it has win xp home sp3 & realtek rtl8102e family pci-e ethernet nic ... everything seems ok as far as the device mgr is concerned ... gen properties show that device is working properly ... we have active cable internet connection (cable modem is motorola sufboard) at home & is regularly connected to the desktop & we just normally unplug it from the desktop & connect it to another (notebook: lenovo) for instant connection to the internet ... this one though just can't connect to the net via the same process ... even while the network cable is plugged in (to this notebook: acer), still shows limited or no connectivity ... both desktop & notebook have tcp/ip set to: obtain ip addres automatically ... modem configuration status page could be accessed from the desktop but not in the notebook here are a few steps we've done to no avail: 1. run acer erecovery to reinstall everything including drivers & applications 2. run the network troubleshooter 3. ipconfig /release & ipconfig /renew (***always gets stuck at ipconfig / renew & eventually says: an error occurred while renewing interface local area connection : unable to contact your dhcp server. request has timed out.) 4. disabled & enabled the connection 5. uninstalled & reinstalled the driver 6. disabled firewall 6: restarted pc & modem if it's any help, please find the details below helpful: from desktop cmd Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection: Connection-specific DNS Suffix . : mydestiny.net Description . . . . . . . . . . . : Marvell Yukon 88E8056 PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet Controller Physical Address. . . . . . . . . : 00-EA-01-0F-D6-5F Dhcp Enabled. . . . . . . . . . . : Yes Autoconfiguration Enabled . . . . : Yes IP Address. . . . . . . . . . . . : 202.8.238.152 Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.254.0 Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 202.8.238.1 DHCP Server . . . . . . . . . . . : 10.1.1.11 DNS Servers . . . . . . . . . . . : 202.8.224.39 202.8.224.36 from notebook cmd Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection: Connection-specific DNS Suffix . : Description . . . . . . . . . . . : Realtek RTL8102E Family PCI-E Fast E thernet NIC Physical Address. . . . . . . . . : 00-23-8B-1C-AF-15 Dhcp Enabled. . . . . . . . . . . : Yes Autoconfiguration Enabled . . . . : Yes Autoconfiguration IP Address. . . . 169.254.217.94 (would there be a way to auto-correct this?) 14. hi Mim0! below are the files i have when extracted: Feb2005_d3dx9_24_x86.cab Apr2005_d3dx9_25_x86.cab Jun2005_d3dx9_26_x86.cab Aug2005_d3dx9_27_x86.cab Oct2005_xinput_x86.cab Dec2005_d3dx9_28_x86.cab Feb2006_d3dx9_29_x86.cab Feb2006_XACT_x86.cab Apr2006_d3dx9_30_x86.cab Apr2006_MDX1_x86.cab Apr2006_MDX1_x86_Archive.cab Apr2006_XACT_x86.cab Apr2006_xinput_x86.cab JUN2006_XACT_x86.cab AUG2006_XACT_x86.cab AUG2006_xinput_x86.cab OCT2006_d3dx9_31_x86.cab OCT2006_XACT_x86.cab DEC2006_d3dx10_00_x86.cab DEC2006_d3dx9_32_x86.cab DEC2006_XACT_x86.cab FEB2007_XACT_x86.cab APR2007_d3dx10_33_x86.cab APR2007_d3dx9_33_x86.cab APR2007_XACT_x86.cab APR2007_xinput_x86.cab JUN2007_d3dx10_34_x86.cab JUN2007_d3dx9_34_x86.cab JUN2007_XACT_x86.cab AUG2007_d3dx10_35_x86.cab AUG2007_d3dx9_35_x86.cab AUG2007_XACT_x86.cab Nov2007_d3dx10_36_x86.cab Nov2007_d3dx9_36_x86.cab NOV2007_X3DAudio_x86.cab NOV2007_XACT_x86.cab Mar2008_d3dx10_37_x86.cab Mar2008_d3dx9_37_x86.cab Mar2008_X3DAudio_x86.cab Mar2008_XACT_x86.cab Mar2008_XAudio_x86.cab JUN2008_d3dx10_38_x86.cab JUN2008_d3dx9_38_x86.cab JUN2008_X3DAudio_x86.cab JUN2008_XACT_x86.cab JUN2008_XAudio_x86.cab Aug2008_d3dx10_39_x86.cab Aug2008_d3dx9_39_x86.cab Aug2008_XACT_x86.cab Aug2008_XAudio_x86.cab Nov2008_d3dx10_40_x86.cab Nov2008_d3dx9_40_x86.cab Nov2008_X3DAudio_x86.cab Nov2008_XACT_x86.cab Nov2008_XAudio_x86.cab Mar2009_d3dx10_41_x86.cab Mar2009_d3dx9_41_x86.cab Mar2009_X3DAudio_x86.cab Mar2009_XACT_x86.cab Mar2009_XAudio_x86.cab Aug2009_D3DCompiler_42_x86.cab Aug2009_d3dcsx_42_x86.cab Aug2009_d3dx10_42_x86.cab Aug2009_d3dx11_42_x86.cab Aug2009_d3dx9_42_x86.cab Aug2009_XACT_x86.cab Aug2009_XAudio_x86.cab Feb2010_X3DAudio_x86.cab Feb2010_XACT_x86.cab Feb2010_XAudio_x86.cab BDANT.cab BDAXP.cab dxdllreg_x86.cab dxnt.cab dxupdate.cabi have the files you listed above ... i think an old post: dx file copy probs (& others) directx_aug2009_redist.exe in HF (& others) using 1.7.9 could be worth a review ... may need to clarify about what tp mentioned concerning the ff files: dsetup32.dll DSETUP.dll DXSETUP.exe cheers!
  15. neat look ... just need a little time to get used to thanks! noticed though in my old posts that formats within codebox that used to appear as intended now doesn't when being (re)viewed (i.e., post #2)
  16. Hi Kiki:Sorry to be a pain in the butt... The first pack you mention doesn't have WGA, and Windows Update, or Microsoft update, or DirectX. hi hag! you can use these as addons then (all by xable too):Microsoft Update Engine v7.4.7600.226 or Windows Update Engine v7.4.7600.226 and Windows Genuine Advantage Validation v1.9.40.0 or Windows Genuine Advantage Notifications v1.9.40.0 and [Release] DirectX Runtimes (2010/Feb) (32/64-bit) courtesy of yumeyao cheers!
  17. hi hag672! how about any of these: XP SP3 Update Pack Contents courtesy of xable XPSP3_QFE_UpdatePack for Windows XP Post-SP3 1.17 20100122 prepared by user_hidden [updated] XP SP3 Update Pack 12.09-03 by redxii cheers!
  18. hi DzigiBau! since you mentioned about some dll concerns, would it be possible that your sys doesn't have the required ones? this may not be the exact answer to your current issue but try looking into this too: [Release] Kels' Runtimes v6 ... the last post by Sereby deals with a stand-alone installer. give it a shot before running nLite again ... might help too redownloading the nLite installer ... cheers!
  19. appreciate this Geej! will try your reco when i create my new build ... just waiting for feb's patch tuesday
  20. hi DzigiBau!! please let me know if i understood this correctly ... you installed nLite to your running system, right? for you to be able to prepare an nLited iso that you'd later use for UA installed, you have to use your xp cd as fresh source (assuming you have it in drive d) or you'd have to copy the contents of your os cd to anywhere on drive c (ideally, you use the root as container for your copied i386 files at least) ... in your case xp files should be copied to C:\Nxp (so contents of which should have a dir structure like: C:\Nxp\cmpnents C:\Nxp\DOCS C:\Nxp\DOTNETFX C:\Nxp\I386 --- this is the most basic content that must be present for nLite to search through (you can ignore the other folders C:\Nxp\IMAGES C:\Nxp\SUPPORT C:\Nxp\VALUEADD this is where nLite will start to work from ... 5eraph's request for last session.ini was derived from the understanding that you completed your nLite run ... nLite cannot work with files that has been installed to the machine ... cheers!
  21. hi DzigiBau! how about these: Unable to work with nLite, Stuck on screen "Locating the Windows installation" Post 417 cheers!
  22. Hmm.. for me with IE8 it works. Which page do you see?My link: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...de-b13d80877558 Parseus' link: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...;displaylang=en should be the same... PS: what's with the openDNS-test (the last PM to you?) hi Mim0! both links from the 2010-01-27 row lead to: A Compatibility View list update is available for Windows Internet Explorer 8: January 26, 2010 & Description of the Compatibility View list in Windows Internet Explorer 8 ... comparing it with the other entries from activity log table, the others lead to dl page ... however, the 1 from table 4 does link to the dl page ... sorry if i wasn't very specific ... my apologies too for not getting back to you rightaway via pm ... appreciate what you provided me ... the link now though to the update list from windows update thread comes up now with no problem ... cheers!
  23. MrJinje, i likewise experience what you mentioned ... jaclaz, i read about your posts previously thanks guys!
