  1. Mr. Jinje:

The whole problem I have been having is how to stuff these modified folders back into a .wim image file. I don't remember where I read this, but on my way here, I seem to recall reading that having/using Dism meant that you did not have to install the Waik. From my experience so far, I haven't found any alternative yet to downloading and installing the Waik.

Since I have been working on this since LAST Saturday, I guess waiting a couple more days won't matter.

I do appreciate the DISM Tool™, so thanks for that. :D

If your wanting to install drivers, updates, and software addons, and also create your finsished .iso give this a try...

And you can check out here for all the software addons I (*Reaper*) and others have made for this program.

  2. found one here: Universal Extractor 1.5 & here: [Release] Universal Extractor 1.5 & here: [Release] Universal Extractor 1.5 ... i remember having this already ... he! he! (but just like what was already posted it shows a beta ver) ... sorry for the bother ...

The first 2 releases you posted are mine....

They are not a beta version of 1.5... (even though they show it)

I asked Nitro about it in this thread and here is what he said....

Yeah, that's been fixed. Somewhat reported it very quickly, before I had even posted the announcement here, so I just pushed out a fixed 1.5 package. Relatively few people should be affected by that, and it's just a cosmetic issue even for those that are.

Since its just a cosmetic issue, I chose not to update the release...

  3. Hey Nitro...

    Program works great... But...

I noticed that if you go to Universal Extractor default install directory,

Program Files\Universal Extractor and double click on the file UniExtract.exe,

the box that comes up says in the heading Universal Extractor 1.5 beta.

Was wondering if this was overlooked or ???

  4. That is a good post.......

    BUT.....

Try that method and see what size the final file size is......

It is ALOT bigger than the one RyanVM did......

I got rid of the stuff about .NET 1.1 and just did 2.0......

Final file is around 42mb in size....

So what I really want to know is how did RogueSpear and RyanVM get their file to 16mb instead of 42 mb......

Thanks for any info anyone can shed on this.....

  5. I have already downloaded both files...

    dotnetfx.exe

    NDP20-KB917283-X86.exe

What I would like to know is how to integrate the hotfix into the dot net 2 package...

So I will have just one package and the hotfix will already be integrated into the installer.

I know RyanVM and a few others have already done this, but I would like to know HOW

    its done..

Thanks for any info you can shed on this.....

  6. Sorry, but I'm new at all this and i'm not familiar with how to do that....

I got the installer for netframework 2..... The file is named: dotnet2.exe (and its a 7Zip setup file)

I got the windowsmedia10-kb902344-x86-intl.exe which if I understand correctly I should rename to 902344.exe.....

But as far as integrating them, honestly I'm lost....

I'm not familiar with how to use things like this..

Do I use my new cd (that has all the other fixes as listed above already in it) as the source? Then what would I need to do......

If there is a tutorial on things like this, please just let me know, and I'll do the research on it.... I don't want you to think I want you to do everything for me....

Since i've just joined here and started looking into this, i'm a little lost....

But I really do appreciate any help....

  7. I created my XP cd with everything in it just like above..... I would like to say thanks... Everything worked exactly as it should....

    Now......

    Two updates left after installation:

    1. Microsoft .NET Framework Version 2.0 Redistributable Package (x86)

    2. Update for WMDRM-enabled Media Players (KB902344)

I would like and try to add these two additional updates that were noted....(to another disc of course)

    I have downloaded the 1st update: dotnetfx.exe

    and the second update: windowsmedia10-kb902344-x86-intl.exe

I would assume that I will need to put dotnetfx.exe into SVC-X2M folder overwriting the original one.

But where do I put the windowsmedia10-kb902344-x86-intl.exe???? In the SVC-HF1 folder???

Thanks for any help and I appreciate everyones hard work......!!!
