  1. haven't noticed, since i delete the registry entry and the HFSLIP folder right after I log in for the first time...

Update: yep, the reg. entry and the dir. are deleted in subsequent logons.

  2. Oh, alright. I thought that spanish windows was affected too, that's why I asked (since I hadn't had any problems.)

There is a new problem in 1.7.1, though. A command for deleting the c:\windows\HFSLIP folder is left in the registry in the machineRunOnce registry entry (it's NOT deleted after first logon).

    bye!

  3. Ok, it's not that big a deal anyway.

BTW, can someone with realtek HD audio help tomcat with this?

    Thanks!

  4. Hi, I have noticed that even if I include KB935448 in the HF folder, when I install windows on a PC with a realtek HD Audio codec, windows update prompts me to install it, even though it should have been slipstreamed.

Same for the intel processors update (can't remeber the KB article number right now)

    Is it not supported?

    bye!

  5. actually no, it's not!

The genuine check that you download from windows update is different.

I don't have the genuine advantage crap installed and i can still dload from windows update and/or M$ download center, because it uses a plugin to verify if your windows is genuine. The wgatray & wgalogon junk has nothing to do with that.

    bye!

  6. Alright, I just built my HFSLIP'd CDs, including KB894871 instead of KB898543, XP and Home editions. Both Work just fine (tested in VMware).

I did notice something though: KB898543 DOES NOT fix the wizard-not-showing-when-slipstreaming WMP11-problem in winXP Home, it only works with XP Pro. KB894871 fixes it for both versions of windows.

    bye!

  7. Hi!

I got a hold of the spanish version of KB894871 and I want to use it instead of KB898543, so that the "please wait" message appears in spanish instead of english when slipstreaming WMP11.

Should I just add it to the HF folder and REMOVE KB898543? Or should I include both?

BTW, this two hotfixes update completely different files, what does KB898543 have to do with MSOOBE??? It updates the files win32k.sys, intl.cpl & explorer.exe while KB894871 updates syssetup.dll & msobmain.dll.

    thanks in advance!

  8. Thanks, that was fast!

Unfortunately, I can't test it, can't dload the file, I get an error "IPS error" :(

Edit: strike that, after a few attempts, I was able to dload the file!

  9. Hi, I just dloaded the latest swflash.cab and it's different from previous versions, this one includes a .inf file and an executable called "FP_AX_CAB_INSTALLER.EXE" instead of an .inf file, flash9x.ocx and flashutil9x.exe (where 'x' is the revision )

BTW, that FP_AX_CAB_INSTALLER.EXE is the same as the install_flash_player_active_x.exe file, dloadable from adobe

Is this still slipstreamable or does hfslip need modifications to work with this?

    bye!

  10. Only one exists...

BTW, my "send to" option disappeared from the right-click-menu...I don't know if it is another side effect of the update or what, but I applied the patch on other windows installation (virtual) and it didn't disappear...weird.

  11. Like I said, I switched to the classic start menu, then opened regedit and navigated to the key and it still was "NewStartPanel", nothing had changed.

So either a) it requires a reboot to take or b)it's a new bug.

    bye!

  12. I suspected something like that, thanks.

Is it a bug or a "feature" of the latest shell update?

    Edit:

That key doesn't exist, one has to create it before setting it to "0"

    And, the correct key is

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\HideDesktopIcons\NewStartPanel

    So, one has to create the key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\HideDesktopIcons\NewStartPanel\{871C5380-42A0-1069-A2EA-08002B30309D}

    an set it to 0.

BTW, if it is a "feature", micro$oft outdid themselves in the sheer-stupidity-department
