  1. I have been using nlite, ryanvm updates, making silent installers for quite some time. Until recently I have had no need for more than one user on my machine, so I check "Full Unattended" in nlite. I automatically log on as administrator and never add any users...... but, now, I would like to add multiple users and give them access to all of my default apps. With my current settings, I cannot add users without the burdon of logging on as administrator (MY default account [and the users I add do not have access to many of my applications.])

So, I would like a welcome screen with a few users, and all the essential apps installed on there accounts. Can someone give me a tutorial link, or point me in the right direction. Thanks in advance.

EDIT: If I cannot install my essential apps for all users, how can I create a personal account (not Administrator.)

I named this visual.reg and put it in the $OEM$ folder.

    My cmdlines.txt looks like this

    [Commands]
    "rundll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection nLite.inf,nLiteReg"
    "REGEDT32.EXE /S visual.reg"

    should that do the trick?

  3. I customize my Visual Effects in Nlite, but the default setting remain. any ideas why this is happening? I have tried several different settings, but always get the same end result.

  4. Cmdow @ /hid

    regsvr32 /u "%commonprogramfiles%\Ahead\Lib\MediaLibraryNSE.dll"

    EXIT

    this is my scout_remove.cmd.

I want to be able to do this without the annoying... regsvr32px2.png

    I would appreciate any suggestions.

  5. Does anyone have information about editing boot screens for multiprocessor machines? I have found loads of tutorials and apps which deal with the ntoskrnl.exe, but nothing about ntkrnlmp.exe.

My plan is to customize both files and repack them to an xp cd.

ANY help or advise would be appreciated.

(This is also (kinda) a double post. I came here because people dealing with 64 bit windows, may be using similar hardware. I am not trying to edit 64 bit kernel files!

  6. I read here MSFN's Unattended Windows Boot Screens that

AMD Processors as of the time of this writing, are ALL considered Single Processor systems, where as Intel Pentium 4 processors WITH Hyperthreading are Multi Processors and all NON Hyperthreaded processors are Single.

I have spent quite some time editing my ntoskrnl.exe, packing it into an xp install cd (in hopes of having a preinstalled custom boot screen), and wasting my time running it through vmware.

    I then noticed ;)untitledim9.jpg

So, do I just have to do the same things I have been doing, but only with ntkrnlmp.exe?

  7. AdminPassword =

was not in there. I accidentally posted teh winnt.sif i was playing with when trying to find the problem. I could try removing AutoLogon = Yes and adding AdminPassword = XXxxXX

    EDIT:

I have tried it with AdminPassword = XXXX, AutoLogon = Yes, and with neither. Every time I get same results. Any more ideas?

  8. My unattended setup is interrupted by the following.

    unattended3mf.jpg

I hit ok, then get this screen

    nextscreen5rh.jpg

    and my winnt.sif is

  10. I dont know how you did it Shark, but my silent switchless for Firefox 1.5 took about 45 seconds. Only one minor change was needed in the config.ini. (change Run Mode from normal to silent.

; Auto - Shows some dialogs, but none requiring user input. It will

  11. XPx64 users... if you REGEDIT this before installing your 7z switchless installer, shortcuts will be added, and product will be registered. I did not remove any components and 7zip compressed it to 96mb.

  12. The config.txt should be:

    ;!@Install@!UTF-8!
    RunProgram="msistub Nero.msi /qb-! /norestart"
    ;!@InstallEnd@!

this is not working at all. installer starts and then rolls back. I suppose I could use my first one as my reboot cmd

Does anyone have more information about StartX.exe? I have looked around on google, but came up empty... or back to this site.
