  1. I still think im going to go with the 3Ware one, it supports server 2008 and i cant find much on the one you suggested Crahak with regards to server 2k8 to be honest.

Also one more question if anybody knows,

The bus is a PCI Express 8X, forgive my stupidity but am i right in saying that this card fits into one of the graphics card slots?

    Thanks

  2. Hi everyone,

Every once in a while when i shutdown i get a bluescreen that says power_driver_state_failure.

I looked over the dump but im missing a few symbols like nt!_KPRCB despite having run symchk over *.* in my system32 directory numerous times :(

Anyway if someone would have a quick look i would be most grateful, link below

    Many thanks

  3. My choice is definitely AntiVir, its lightweight enough, it has a simple interface, and it has one of the highest detection rates of any AV (NB I do not say highest because detection rates are based on particular test data, some AV comparisons are biased with virii/trojans known to detect better on one AV or other).

Also, what I really really like about AntiVir is that it hasn't tried to do -everything- like lots of AV/Firewall/Anti-Spyware developers seem to be doing. When I want an AV program, I want an AV program, not an AV program with crappy anti-spyware attachments.

    I use AntiVir for AV,

Spywareblaster and Spybot SD for anti-spyware (not ad-aware because the new version sucks)

    Zonealarm for firewall.

I run a limited user account on Windows - this is one of the most best ways you can help protect your computer, and I keep up to date with all of my software.

Here is a great blog for keeping up to date with security announcements: http://voices.washingtonpost.com/securityfix/

And here is a great link to a software update checker: http://secunia.com/vulnerability_scanning/

    Best advice:

    Run limited user account

Always uninstall old (unsecure) versions of software before updating to new

    Do not use IE

Use Noscript and Adblockplus plugins for Firefox

    Browse carefully

    Well said Sir!

  4. If you select "microsoft exchange server" you will be prompted for a server and username. The only other thing in there is "cached exchange mode" Which would not cause the problem you are having. Start again and just google "how to configure outlook 2003 for exchange" and follow one of the many tutorials replacing their server name with yours and their username with yours and everything should be fine. :)

  5. All you need is a 1-1 NAT rule on your Router for each computer your have. As to whether or not that router provides this functionality im not sure. You would need a business grade router i would guess as most home customers have standard SUA Nat in place and therefore use only a single address.

  6. I would suggest more ram for that SBS box, SBS does so much and is hard to run smoothly on anything less than 2GB (obviously depending on the number of users). So that coupled with Software mirroring *may* be ok.

What exactly does the program do? and how do it work? (flat files\ SQL backend?)

How many users are you serving?

    Thanks
