I dont understand why you would need a usb connection on your DSL router. If the usb connection isnt show up correctly, just redetect it and look at windows\inf\setupapi.log, it'll show the PnP ID. You can use this PnP to try to find compatible drivers. If you have a vista driver setup, just extract the .exe and look for the inf. I would think a vista driver would work fine in windows 7.
