  1. on the transcript it says the real exam (ie 70-681), just like normal. Like i said the first 5000 people that pass a certification get a special version, i forget the correct word. edit: the word is charter. See this link to see the difference: http://www.techexams.net/forums/general-certification/12514-certification-certificates-2.html
  2. why not? Its free. If you pass you get the certification, if you fail its like it never happened. Also, i believe the first 5000 people that pass a cert get a special kind, i forget the word. So you would get a special cert you could put on your resume. Ive taken 3 beta exams, passed 2, failed the last one ;(
  3. You can register for this test today for free. If you pass, you get the certification. If you fail, it doesnt count against you, and like i said test is free. Beta exam = 71-681: TS: Windows 7 and Office 2010, Deploying Beta registration begins = 28/Junho Beta start date = 06/Julho Beta end date = 26/Julho Beta Promo Code = WO20 Just go to register.prometric.com
  4. When i went to the windows 7 launch a jerk in the audience yelled out to the technet guy that bitlocker was cracked. The MS guy said as long as you follow normal security practices you cant crack bitlocker, and i agree.
  5. i think im the only pesron to know http://www.networkworld.com/community/node/62740 whats new: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff607226(EXCHG.80).aspx What's New in Exchange Server 2007 SP3 Applies to: Exchange Server 2007 SP3 Topic Last Modified: 2010-03-31 Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 Service Pack 3 (SP3) introduces many new features for each server role. This topic discusses the new and improved features that are added when you install Exchange 2007 SP3. To download Exchange 2007 SP3, see Exchange Server 2007 Downloads. New Deployment Options Windows Server 2008 R2 Support Exchange Server 2007 SP3 supports all Exchange 2007 roles on the Windows Server 2008 R2 operating system. Exchange 2007 SP3 provides support only for a new installation of Exchange on Windows Server 2008 R2. Exchange 2007 SP3 is not supported in an upgrade scenario on Windows Server 2008 R2. For example, Exchange 2007 SP3 does not support the following installation scenarios: A new Exchange 2007 SP3 installation on a Windows Server 2008 R2-based computer that has been upgraded from Windows Server 2008 Upgrading Exchange 2007 SP2 to Exchange 2007 SP3 on a Windows Server 2008 R2-based computer that has been upgraded from Windows Server 2008 Upgrading the operating system from Windows Server 2008 to Windows Server 2008 R2 on a computer that has Exchange 2007 SP3 installed For more information about the installation prerequisites for installing Exchange 2007 SP3 on a Windows Server 2008 R2-based computer, see How to Install Exchange 2007 SP1 and SP2 Prerequisites on Windows Server 2008 or Windows Vista. For more information about the supported operating systems for Exchange 2007 SP3, see Exchange 2007 System Requirements. Windows 7 Support Exchange 2007 SP3 supports the installation of the Exchange 2007 management tools on a computer that is running Windows 7. Additionally, Exchange 2007 SP3 provides support for the installation of the Exchange 2007 Management Tools together with the Exchange Server 2010 Management Tools on the same Windows 7-based computer. Exchange 2007 SP3 provides support only for a new installation of the Exchange Management Tools on Windows 7. Exchange 2007 SP3 is not supported in an upgrade scenario on Windows 7. For example, Exchange 2007 SP3 does not support the following installation scenarios: A new Exchange 2007 SP3 installation on a Windows 7-based computer that has been upgraded from Windows Vista Upgrading Exchange 2007 SP2 to Exchange 2007 SP3 on a Windows 7-based computer that has been upgraded from Windows Vista Upgrading the operating system from Windows Vista to Windows 7 with Exchange 2007 on a computer that has Exchange 2007 SP3 installed For more information about how to install the Exchange 2007 management tools, see How to Install the Exchange 2007 Management Tools. Schema Changes Exchange 2007 SP3 includes Active Directory schema changes for certain Unified Messaging (UM) mailbox attributes. For more information, see Active Directory Schema Changes (SP3). Support for Right-to-Left Disclaimer Text Exchange 2007 SP3 includes support for Right-to-Left text in e-mail message disclaimers in a right-to-left language, such as Arabic. In earlier versions of Exchange, when you use a transport rule to create a disclaimer in a right-to-left language on an Exchange 2007 Hub Transport server, the text appears incorrectly when you view it from Outlook 2007. Exchange 2007 SP3 adds functionality to the transport rule setting to fully support right-to-left text in disclaimers. 7. sharepoint designer 2010 has been out for awhile on ms download center and MSDN. Its about a 200 meg download.
  8. I briefly looked at this months ago. The problem is windows 7 and vista use the same PLU's so you woul dhave a product key problem. It might be possible to get around that, but i never use vista so i didnt care enough to bother. Maybe cluberti could write a step by step guide how to do this since i dont see any steps on how to do this?
  9. By defalut windows xp home allows 5 concurrent connections; windows xp pro 10. There is a hack of tcpip.sys that removes this limit i believe, been a long time ive used it because you dont need more than 10 concurrent connections on a client. XP SP2 was supposed to increase the limit on RDP connections. By default windows xp only allows 1 concurrent rdp connection i believe, they were supposed to increase that to 2 but it was removed from SP2, and of course SP3. It seems people are confuzing the 2 things. Microsoft has never changed the concurrent connection limit in windows.
  10. Windows XP should never show that screen as it was removed from the final. I forget the exact file that causes that, it was something like ocman.dll or so. I would just recreate the flat and reapply any customizations. You should keep a log of every change you make so you can start over.
  11. http://www.businessinsider.com/apple-worth-more-than-microsoft-2010-5 This rollercoaster is going down
  12. lol calm down dude, no one is yelling at you. I used to work for microsoft and im a server 2008 MCITP. I understand how dns works. A DNS alias is simply a redirect. WWW is a dns alias. It redirects to another server. What i am talking about is in IE i just typed "tori", clicked on GO, and it went to blah.com/blah/~blah.html. The website owner didnt own tori.com. I was very impressed at the time how he did it. On his site he mentioned what it was, but i dont recall what he used. And no, i wasnt modifying the registry or anything. Im sure this was some kind of service or something back in the 1990's that no longer exists. Im surprised no one else heard of this before.
  13. im not talking about typing in microsoft, and getting it resolved to microsoft.com. Long time ago there was a Tori Amos fan site, its address was something like http://blah.com/blah/~blah.html. If you typed in "tori" in the IE address bar, it resolved to that URL. This was back in 1996 or so. Im guessing this was removed from the internet, just curious how it was done since you cant do that in modern dns...
  14. For those interested today msft also released an update to deploy office 2010 http://blogs.technet.com/alanlemarquand/archive/2010/05/14/microsoft-deployment-toolkit-2010-update-1-now-in-beta-release.aspx
  15. you could also use SUS - software update services
  16. good to hear from you brandon my aim is 'goshatwork' if u want to say hi some time.

  17. This has some content on sharepoint 2010, including downloadable content. http://technet.microsoft.com/hi-in/sharepoint/ff420396(en-us).aspx
  18. This is very off topic, but back in the early 1990's when few people knew what the interweb was, i remember some websites used DNS names. For example, rather than typing www.mysite.com in the address bar, you could just type mys, and click GO, and the site came up. I think it was a dns trick. It's been years since ive seen this. Does anyone know what this was? Is it still around? Curious how it was done
  19. what does the SSD manufactor suggest? Do you need to load drivers before running setup?

  22. I havent used office 2010 rtm yet, but it appears there's a tool called CDT that does this, but its for volume license versions only, which arent on technet/msdn yet. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Microsoft_Office_2010 Office Customization Tool is used to customize the installation of Office 2010/2007 by creating a Windows Installer patch file (.MSP) and replaces the Custom Installation Wizard and Custom Deployment Wizard included in earlier versions of the Office Resource Kit which created a Windows Installer Transform (.MST). Office Customization Tool is only included in Volume License editions of Office 2010.
  23. The way you short a stock is you short AFTER the catalyst. AAPL will release new iphones in june, and will also announce earnings which should be helped by early adopter ipad sales. So you short AFTER the new iphone and earnings release. Market will also start tanking in july so this will be good timing. So easy a caveman could do it.
