  1. Yeah, I could do that. I wanted to see if people were interested in the tool first
  2. Yes. My Great Grandfather came from Turku. my last name was originally Koivuniemi
  3. Yeah, because you wrote it... I like my tool better because I wrote it. So there!!!!!
  4. I have over 1,000 downloads of this program, so I may just develop this further. Anybody have any ideas on these prospective features: 1) Adding a configurable option of either dropdown combo box, radio buttons, or push/toggle buttons. 2) Allow the addition of JPG, BMP, or GIF Backgrounds. 3) Allow the title bar to change to your liking. 4) Eliminate the 16 Program Limit. Of course I will need to charge a nominal $5.00 per copy if I am going to invest the time. But I will keep the free version available.
  5. I never said that I didnt or couldnt write a tool to search all the folders on the drive. What I am saying is that it would be foolish of me to invest the time into writing a complex tool without monetary compensation. Again, this is a free tool. I am testing to see if there is an interest in a tool to do this before I invest my time in creating and selling something like that. And I am kind of surprised to read the responses of people complaining about getting FREE SOFTWARE.. If someone were to give you a Million Dollars, would you complain if it is in small bills?
  6. Interesting. I can probably have my tool do that automatically, but my finnish grammar is bad.
  7. Your right. If you want to keep typing. But I type enough at work. I would rather use this tool to generate a bat file for me. But if you rather type a new bat file or edit an existing one, go right ahead. But I reiterate, This TOOL IS FREEEEEEEE!!!! Have fun. IF you want to write War & Peace every time you want to install a hotfix, then this is worthless to you.
  8. A little Clarification: What would you do if you downloaded these hotfixes after you installed Windows? It would be impractical to slipstream a new DVD every month. That is why this tool was designed. Because I download these hotfixes manually, I had to edit a batch file in the past for every hotfix manually. This tool does it AUTOMATICALLY. I hate Windows update because of the darn nag screens so I prefer to do it this way, and I am sure others will too. THE PRICE IS RIGHT !! I am offering this tool for free. But, if you prefer to slipstream a DVD every month, than that is up to you.
  9. I think you both are missing the point of this tool. The tools you are talking about are for slipstreaming. What would you do if you downloaded these hotfixes after you installed Windows? It would be impractical to slipstream a new DVD every month. That is why this tool was designed. Because I download these hotfixes manually, I had to edit a batch file in the past for every hotfix manually. This tool does it AUTOMATICALLY. I hate Windows update so I prefer to do it this way, and I am sure others will too. Besides, I am offering this tool for free. So don't look a Gift Horse in the mouth. But I appreciate your input. But if you prefer to slipstream a DVD every month, than that is up to you.
  10. I am not quite sure what you are asking for. I can tell from the amount of downloads that this is a popular program. What would everybody suggest that I add to it? I have another one that creates and runs a batch file to install hotfixes. you save the tool on your c drive and browse to a folder containing only your hotfixes. Keep the folder name under 8 characters. HotfixInstall.exe
  11. I have created a tool to help install hotfixes if you manually download them for Windows XP. Save the file on your C: drive and run the tool. Browse to the folder where you have saved your hotfixes, and click install. What the tool does is create a batch file to install all the hotfixes. You need to make sure the source directory name is 8 characters or less. HotfixInstall.exe
  12. here is a tool I wrote to help install the hotfixes, it creates a batchfile to install them. save the hotfixes into a directory named hotfixes ( or 8 character name ), and then run program HotfixInstall.exe
  13. It is very easy to do... Just edit the mouse module in the cdshell module folder... Instead of for output, you want to edit the mouse cursor for input from the mouse... Of course, I am an asm programmer
  14. You are getting this message due to the page swapping that is needed by the kernel due to memory requirements. Bear in mind, that windows 3.1 uses DOS as the backbone and is in essence just a GUI for Dos. So, you may be taking up the maximum lower memory capacity of 640KB(nt sure of exact capacity) but if you used dos only before and you tried to play Doom and enable a mouse and sound card you know what i am talking about
