  1. The file in question is shell32.dll all i did was install XPize 4.7 Beta 2, then reboot, install XPize 4.7 beta 1 choosing ONLY shell32.dll patching, then ran the XPize Force Reload tool just to make sure the new resources were saved & then rebooted & now my shell32.dll is patched & I get no more nagging. :)

  2. Thats a seriously lucky fit . I just bought a Scythe Infinty (Mugen) (also shame it came with a broken fan but i already ordered a Xilence 120mm fan to replace the stock one anyways) and didnt anticipate it's sheer size, I used to have a CNPS-9500 and I thought it was huge!

Thankfully I have plenty of space due to the layout of my Antec Lanboy case but I also suffered a similar problem with my RAM slots, I moved my RAM to the upper slots on my DFI Lanparty nF3 Ultra-D just incase I suffered that problem and so far all running well :).

Congrats on your heatsink fitting :D

  3. The only "bug" that springs to mind is the patching of 7-zip custom icons as all of the .dll files in the latest version are rolled into one new 7-zip.dll file

i know this isn't "high priority" but it'd be very much appreciated if this could be fixed to save me having to manually reshack it on every new 7-zip release ;)

  4. Hi leoliver,

I was able to recue a non-booting laptop with Bart PE's rescue disk. By 'rescue' I mean I was able to re-boot the laptop, get into a WinXP style enviroment and run the Windows disk checking/repair utility. This restored the laptop to its normal bootable condition. Though the checkdisk utility did keep repairing errors on every run, the laptop (as far as I know) is still functioning.

As far as I can remember when you boot a PC with Bart PE you are in a user friendly WinXP enviroment, where you can run WinXP and other disk utilities and browse through files and folders, as if you where in a true O/S enviroment.

    Hope this helps,

    Waywyrd.

To sum up what Waywyrd has said: It's like a very limited but functional Windows XP which runs off a CD (so you can access your computer to say, backup files you need before a format or run chkdsk on a broken HDD)

It's similar to the "Live" CDs you get with some Linux distro's to "try" them out but obviously BartPE creates a "mini-xp" so you can access your computer if corrupted, broken etc :thumbup

  5. can you add Media Player Classic patching to the next version?

default location is "%programfiles%\Media Player Classic\mplayerc.exe"

couple of bitmaps and the main icons could do with sprusing up, at the moment i'm just manually change the two icons to the mpeg and avi ones from your pack :)

id also love to see that, K-Lite codec pack has a nice icon for the main program plus there is many png variations at the PNGFactory.

A "XPized" media player classic would be nice as I love MPC but i just hate the fact that everything looks so professional with XPize being installed and im stuck with win95 graphics for my media :(

  6. Okay, here are the custom images I use on my setup. It's a bit tricky getting XPize to load the browseui stuff. You might have to load them manually with ResHacker. I'm using XPIze 4.2 with halfway-decent results...

    Images ZIP

ill mirror those files 2moro for you wildbill :D

  7. Hello,

I have just tried to install the latest XPize in my fresh XP+SP2 installation. After the reboot, it complains that it was not able to update 28 files (and it says they will be updated after reboot). However after many reboots each time the same message appears. And of course some files are not updated (for example, Internet Options in IE6 still shows the old icons).

Any help would be greatly appreciated

have windows updates been installed after each reboot? maybe an update has been automatically installed and now xpize is reloading them to make em XPized

  8. Are there new skins for XPize? I just installed Microsoft Media Player 11 beta and I love the default skin so I would love to see similiar skins for XPize. If this isn't already available, can you PLEASE implement it.

    Thx in advance.

I'm thinking in a new style refresh for XPize 5, but never thought about a black skin :P We will see :hello:

a luna element 5 mod based on black would be nice to go with WMP11 ;) (i use blue personally but if u ever had the time to create another xpize mod im sure a lot of peeps would like that :))

  9. I have tried both xpize 4.3 full and lite edition. And while I install gvim 6.4, an error dialog says that shell32.dll memory allocation error.

My system is windows xp sp2 simplied chinese edition.

    How I can solve it?

    Thanks a lot.

After installing XPize I suffer memory allocation problems, what's wrong?

This happens when you have Asian languages installed and your shell32.dll weights more than 10MB. Try installing Lite version (no 128x128 icon support) in order to fix your problem.

if the lite version is still giving you problems then you may have to manually "cut down" the shell32.dll size by using reshacker or just uninstall XPize :(
