  1. xplorerUSA,

Thank you so much for the help!

I'm still running into the same problem with olepro32.dll.

Any suggestions besides using the files from another 98se disk or injecting the dll into the iso. Could there be something wrong with the files on the 98lite boot disk.

    Please, any ideas would help.

    Thanks again

  2. I've ran into YET another problem. :realmad: I followed the instructions above disregarding the error as (hopefully) it didn't seem to affect anything. When installing the homemade 98micro from cd I get an error trying to extract olepro32.dll from the cd. I have recopied the cab files from another 98SE cd and injected them into the iso but I still recieve the EXACT same error, even when burnt at 24X and using a new asus cd-rom. I'm at the end of my rope. Someon please offer me more details or new suggestions, please. I've been working on this for about a year now and this is the closest I've come.

Thanks for all the help so far, just keep it coming

Thanks so much for the tutorial but I'm running into a problem.

Here's the error I run into right after extracting the 98SE setup files to the hard drive:

    "Bad command or file name"

"File Path Mapping Error. Shared installation folders must be mapped to a drive letter. 98lite can not continue."

    Please Help!

  4. The Official Mindows Thread

    --Mindows Mission Statement--

Windows 9x is at core quite satisfying as an operating system, but many of us use only a small fraction of the total functionality, yet pay the price in terms of disk space, memory resources, and "integration" of a browser or other bundled programs. The intent of Winimization is to offer a tiny Windows installation that can be run with or without a registry, and is therefore portable across a wide variety of ibm compatible machines.

It is expected that the installations developed in these pages will be of particular interest to those wishing to install Win9x on legacy machines or dedicated machines/embedded systems. It is hoped that feedback to this project will result in even more satisfying results than I have achieved to date.

  5. I got to thinking after browsing through the forums, with all this talk about running 98 on legacy machines and unattended 98 setups, why don't we bring the two concepts into one package. A 98Sleek or 98Micro Unattended CD would be superb... no, it would be bliss. Please post if anyone is interested or just has a few comments. :thumbup

  6. No, but I have found a couple of iso's with the 98lite directory in the root directory of the iso. So indirectly yes, but the process of doing a clean install is rather messy and I still haven't had success with installing 98micro, Sleek, or any other install that 98lite allows you to do. :(

  7. I have a Windows 98 CD With the 98Lite directory in the root directory of the CD.

When I try to run it from the 98 CD (by typing "D:\98lite"), I get this error:

"File Path Mapping Error. Shared installation folders must be mapped to a drive letter. 98lite can not continue."

Is there some DOS commmand I am missing here?

    Please Help :(

  8. I would like to know how to do what is mentioned below. This information was found using Google's cache of a webpage in LitePC's website.

    http://66.102.7.104/search?q=cache:6rSGrAN...+features&hl=en

Unattended Installation: 98lite Enterprise includes an optional.ini

file for integration with Microsoft's Batch 98 setup utility for

unattended installation of Windows 9x with (or without!) all the

    98lite optional features

Network Setup, Custom CDROMs: Prepare network media or burn CDROM's

that automatically install the modified windows setup. You can modify

the Windows setup process and then save that modified configuration to

a CDROM or network drive for deployment as required.

This purchase is for a single multi-user license. Enter the number of

machines you will be installing to. A single CDROM will be mailed also

(you can not remove the CDROM). :hello:

  10. How can I make a customized ISO that installs 98micro rather than modifying a post installation using 98lite. I need instructions step by step because my knowledge in this area is very foggy.
