  1. In order to test my just-released update downloader, I made a new test iso. Result was 120Mo, 5MB more than Windows Jacked OS, a difference around 4%.

I forgot to put WIHU so no software has been added and since my program only downloads critical updates for windows, IE was left untouched.

I had a 50MB commit. With softwares installed I get a bit more than 60MB.

As I wanted to know down to which memory usage I could go I disabled some services (including print spooler...) and got 40MB.

csrss+lsass use 5MB. explorer at least 8MB. you need at least two svchost and one services.exe : at least 18MB. Sum this and the absolute minimum is 30MB. This is really and *absolute* minimum.

Tux this is impressive. How did you do it? I have an oem xp disc I bought and not using. I would switch from 2k to xp on one puter with results like this.

  2. There is an os called xp jacked core. Does anyone know how he did it?

I do like 2k and hfslip is amazing. Everyone that worked on it and contributed to it breathed new life in 2k.

  3. I have been modding 2k with very good results. Now I am going to try xp. Is it possible to get a stable xp with about 30 mb comitt using hfslip? How bout hfslip/nlite together. Size doesnt matter as much as security, efficientcy, and stability.

  4. If I take xp and nlite it and disable unneeded services and disable most of the eye candy (still need a little) whas is the compasison to an nlited 2k running the same services?

How about size and security difference? Speed difference?

  5. Bed sheets

An extremely modest man was in the hospital for a series of tests, the last

of which had left his bodily systems extremely upset.

Upon making several false alarm trips to the bathroom, he decided the

latest episode was another and stayed put. He suddenly filled his bed with

diarrhea and was embarrassed beyond his ability to remain rational.

In a complete loss of composure he jumped out of bed, gathered up the bed

sheets, and threw them out the hospital window.

A drunk was walking by the hospital when the sheets landed on him. He

started yelling, cursing, and swinging his arms violently trying to get the

unknown things off, and ended up with the soiled sheets in a tangled pile

    at his feet.

As the drunk stood there, unsteady on his feet, staring down at the sheets,

a hospital security guard, (barely containing his (laughter), and who had

watched the whole incident, walked up and asked, 'What the heck is going on

    here?'

The drunk, still staring down replied: 'I think I just beat the #### out of

    a ghost.'

  6. The speakers looked cool. I read review on monitor by users and most approved of it. I know acer used to not be good but they have improved.

I had to work some OT this week to pay for thest and for property taxes coming due soon

  7. I chose windows 95 cause it lacks some dll's to run certain software.98 was a little better.98SE was great. ME with a few tweaks ran flawless for me.

The only thing I have against ME was that MS dropped project neptune (windows 2000 home) in favor of ME. A very bad move.

A friend of mine has to have the latest OS is using vista. He claims vista is the worst. I dont to ever use vista so I dont know if its true or not.

  8. I use windows 2000. To me it suites my needs perfectly. The only complaint with it is, it lacks the softer feel that xp has.

It seems to have the hard edge rugged feel to it. I guess I will live with it till a solution comes along.
