  3. The unattended world is not blessed with (many) x64 driverpacks. And if there are any they surely are outdated so I guess you need to make your own.

    Not saying this can't be done, it's relative easy to do.

    I advise you to visit the forums @ www.driverpacks.net. I am sure you can find more information there and they are willing to answer your question too ;)

  4. HJW, getting the famous 'Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage' on all your 'download here' links.

    I do not understand what your SFX installers are except you have extracted the original, stripped out unnecessary stuff and repacked into self extracting. I know about DirectX (about half the size) but don't understand the other two.

    Thanks, John

    Links are fully working here (firefox) http://vistapacks.siginetsoftware.com/files/X64-PostSP2/

    SelfExtractingInstallers , just run the file and the rest will be done automatically.

  5. Hi all,

    :D In addition to this guide I want to add a few things. I use those to make my X64-CD even more up2date. :D

    KB890830 (Malicious Software Removal Tool)

    Use /Q to install silent (T13 ready).

    DirectX_march08_x64_redist (switchless SFX installer with only x64 CABs)

    size = 38,9mb, md5 = a112fadb6b527f9e1f1de23b375424eb

    download here

    NET20SP1_x64 ( repacked switchless SFX with T-13 ready )

    size = 46,8mb, md5 = 19dd772d6cddced9b246a8e99dad3a7e

    download here

    Windows Update Client X64 ( repacked switchless SFX installer )

    size = 7.69mb, md5 = 5372304f21699279fefe3df163e984e4

    download here

    I also tried to make an SFX covering the issues in this topic but I failed with that one. :(

  6. I am not sure if is different from an x86 version, as the x86 version installs fine on my x64 WinXP, but if it is different and someone has made/can make said installer, it would be greatly appreciated :blushing:

    Try my installer

    Contain Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0SP1x64, 3.0SP1x64 and 3.5x64.

    Too bad this one is not svcpack compitable..

  7. That is a very well put together tutorial HJW! :thumbup

    Very nice. I may use some of these ideas when I code the next release of Windows XP PowerPacker. :D

    a question...

    Are there any issues with any computers displaying graphic menus that you know of? I mean like older computers or something.

    It would be awsome if maybe you can help me put together a new boot menu system for powerPacker. ;) I'm sure we could code it in a way where people can easily share themes and stuff.

    Thanks,

    Your question; very old computers that don't support VGAmode by cdshell will receive an error. I assume you guys are running 'modern' machines nowadays ;).

  8. Hello i have finally completed my setup.exe to launch the windows setup. When i click on it it brings up the windows installation - how do i edit the text and still like the box that you choose either Upgrade or New Install and things - I woukld like to edit those box's title bars and things but i dont know what file to edit - also can you tell me where the images will be stored

    Thankyou

    Use this tool: ResHacker to edit files, exe,dll whatever.

    The information you are looking for is (i think) stored in either winnt.exe or winnt32.exe / or setup.exe

    Just look through all of them with resourcehacker ;)

  9. Hi,

    First of all I am glad this subject has its own section. Though I think we should include Vista from usb here too.

    Currently I am using an 3rd party program to format my usbdevice as vistaboot disk and I just replace boot.wim and add install.wim: done. Ofcourse there is some other way to do it manually with some smaller tool or cmd, I dont know of yet.

    Therefore I started this topic to discuss how to set up your usb device for vista-installation.

  10. Hi all,

    I created the following code in my wpi.html file. Could someone re-write it better? :whistle:

    Not all screen resolutions are included. And a 'backup' wallpaper would be nice too...

    Main reason for this. Wallpapers get out of proportion and if upscaled you have often granular fonts, ugly to read..

    Thanks in advance

    HJW
