I am wondering what the correct procedure is for upgrading SAB, do you have to uninstall the prior version? Because I just upgraded it to a later version, but when done, the prior version launched (when I checked properties I saw this).
-
I was wondering if possibility the capability may be added to SAB to export & import your SAB settings list. That would be great not have to manually configure SAB on other computers.
-
To add folders to the SAB start menu, open the SAB properties / config panel, then go to the Start Menu section, in that section half way down on the right side find a text link that says "Custom folders..." . Yeah it is kinda easy to miss being a text link.

I just wanted to say how much I appreciate the new taskbar plumpness setting in SAB that you (Tihiy) have implemented it is a great setting and makes the taskbar a little bigger like I had always wanted.
-
That is an occasional Windows bug that was in Win 10 also and not related to SAB. It annoyed me when it happened to, but you can refresh the File Explorer window (with the cycle button) and your new folder should show up.

Feature Request: I would really be stoked if Taskbar Icon Size had a setting in between Large and Extra Large called Medium Large. Even on 2K monitors the XL icon setting is too big and all the other icon sizes are too small at 2K for my liking..

I think a killer feature for SAB would be independent auto hiding of task bars on multi monitors. Also is there any way to get the Quick Launch working on SABs Win 7 Theme, on this theme the taskbar right click menu doesn't have a menu item for Toolbars. .... At this time I want to say how much I appreciate Your [Tihiy] coding to once again make the System Tray appear on all Taskbars. MicroSloth removing this has to be very high on the list of egregious things they did to the Taskbar alone.

Tihiy, thank you for your troubleshooting guidance. I downloaded ShellEXview and went through the list disabling any suspect looking shell extensions. The culprit was a shell extension belonging to a program called "Explorer Context Menu Tweaker" (which never caused any right click menu issues under Win10, but I just upgraded this machine to 11 two days ago). Thanks again for the support, now my right click menus work fine again.

I'm running 3.8.13 and I have a weird issue of, if you either right click a Desktop icon or right click any file in File Explorer, the whole Windows shell crashes and then restarts. I am using the Win 7 SAB theme settings. I have gone through Add / Remove Programs and made sure that I'm not running any conflicting programs with SAB such as Explorer Patcher, Old New Explorer, Open shell, etc and I'm not running any of those. I have also had this issue occur on an 11 VM that I was testing SAB on prior. If anyone knows the fix to this issue, I'd be grateful.

@Tihiy I had used Open Shell for over a decade and I had always used its single column classic Start Menu with a skin. Is there any chance we could get a skinned classic Start Menu in SAB? Since Open Shell is nearly defunct on Win 11 now. Also I have SAB on another PC of 11 that has 3 monitors and SAB only styles the main taskbar on the main monitor, is there any way to make SAB style all taskbars on all monitors? In other words, does SAB have multi monitor taskbar support?
-
A general question: can SAB upgrade or do you have to uninstall the old version first? Because I have had a many as 3 versions of SAB on my VM recently, that I by chance saw in the programs list and had to remove the older 2 versions.

@Tihiy I am wondering if it would be worth the effort, in the Remastered 7 theme in File Explorer to get the Menu Bar drop down menus working. In 10 LTSC I have always disabled the ribbon and used the menu bar and it would great to have the menus working on it in 11 also.
-
I can't find it either.

I have used Open / Classic Shell all the way back to Win 7, but have never ran SAB / SIB and Open Shell at the same time. Can you say what the benefit of doing so is? What is missing from one or the other that you need both, maybe I'm missing out not running both.

@Tihiy Thanks for the crash support. After getting the latest version of T2 from the download link it is running normally now on my 11 IoT 24H2 VM. Which now is build 26120.1252.
-
I just tried T2 on my 11 IoT VM (I forget the build number) 24H2 beta and it made it into a black screen of death even after a forced restart it is still, a black screen of death. What should I do? I can run the task manager though from the KB shortcut, can I do something from there? Explorer won't start, I've tried several times from with task manager Run. UPDATE: During another forced restart cycle I held the ESC key but it didn't help, I am still at a black screen of death. Also during forced reboots I am not getting the instructions to hold ESC if SAB can't load. UPDATE 2: I was able to call CMD from task manager, then call msconfig from CMD, then set msconfig to reboot in safe mode. There I uninstalled T2 and recovered my 24H2 beta VM. By the way, my build number is 26120.961.

I tried the new Alpha2 taskbar on my Server 2025 (26244.5000) VM and it works well. Prior to upgrading to Alpha2, SAB 3.7.11 taskbar wouldn't even initialize.

@Tihiy I noticed when using the Windows 7 theme on File Explorer in 11 24H2, that the menu bar word buttons (File, Edit, View, Tools) don't work when choosing to display the menu bar. I really like using those menu bar word buttons / menus and I'm wondering if there is a way that you could re-enable them (that Microsoft purposely broke) in a future version? One issue this creates is, since those menus don't work, there is no way to bring up the "File Folder Options" panel, when using the SAB Windows 7 theme on File Explorer. Thanks a lot for SAB.

Does anyone know how to pin a folder to the right column of the "7" SAB start menu?
-
Just wanted to report that SAB is running great on 11 LTSC 26120.670 (24H2) insiders.

Feature Request for SAB: I would like to see on Taskbar Icon Size a setting for Medium Large Icons. It seems that on monitors of 2K res & higher that the Large Icon setting is too small and the XL Large Icon Setting is too big. Half way in between the two would just perfect.
-
Yeah, I have used LTSC since ver 2019-1809 (stuck with 7 till then) and I'm, so proud to say that 10 "so called" home or Pro has never touched any of my bare metal.
-
I agree, SAB does so much more for 11 than Open Shell. I am using SAB on a leaked version of 11 LTSC, which are the only versions of Windows now fit to use. I have installed SAB 3.7.9 but it still says that it is 3.7.8. Also I have an issue that when I right click file(s) in File Explorer, the whole Windows shell crashes. Has anyone else had this?
