I still can't access the site. Howerver,I will try Legacy Update instead. Thank you! :thumbup

Read my guide for Xp x64 edition and for Server 2003. My guide for Xp x64 and Server 2003 @AstroSkipper does not have in his guide. The problem is that ProxhttpsProxy v1.5 does not run properly on Xp x64 and Server 2003, so v1.3 must be used!

  2. Brief Update. So the search for updates in WUv4 works thanks @WinFX again only unfortunately results.asp is missing because it was not archived properly. It redirects to splash.asp?page=3. That means we can't view or install the updates. I think that we will find a solution for this problem. The Update Catalog is the next project.

Hello @maile3241! Long time no hear from each other! Are you OK? I hope so. Anyway, this Legacy Update service is an interesting found! I had a look at its homepage but I couldn't find any information about the supported languages. Do you know if it is for English Windows versions only? :dubbio:

    Cheers, AstroSkipper smilie_schild_035.gif

Hello @AstroSkipper thank you for asking! I am fine. I hope everything is fine with you too. Well, this website is in English but it still searches and finds updates in the respective language, so that works without any problems.

Hello and thank to all the person in the thread.I have already solved the 500 error, but it still have some problems. When I type my server’s address, the URL seems to be rewritten correctly ,but then it jumps to the official page and won’t stay on the local page. Did I miss something?

The problem is in redirect.js either delete redirect.js or use this url: http://v5.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/v5consumer/default.aspx?&g_sconsumersite

    what are you referring to?

is it the visual c++ 2008 installer or the other?

im pretty sure that for windows 2000 sp3, you needed to install kb835732 or visual c++ 2008 installer wont run due to missing functions.

windows 2000 sp4 has the same error, just tested it under a fresh install so you still need kb835732 or update rollup 1.

im only stating the other solution cause it took me a while to figure out nothing was actually wrong with my windows xp installation and i wanted to give a clue to anyone getting similar problems.

this happened to me multiple times and each time, i would be utterly confused.

in fact just recently, proxhttpsproxy somehow created a corrupt certificate and both windows update and microsoft update was spitting out invalid certificate authority errors (forgot the error code) until i just remembered i had a similar issue and renamed the certs folder.

It is now about Vista not about Win 2000

and you might need to install kb835732 or update roll up 1 to be able to run the visual c++ 2008 installer.

and for those of you that had proxhttpsproxy v1.3a previously working and now isnt.

you might need to rename certs folder to something so that it creates another certs folder with non-corrupt certificates.

proxyhttpsproxy v1.3a can create non-working certificates especially if you close it unwarrantedly or you had a bsod (happened to me).

No, this update is not necessary at all.  I tested it myself some time ago and it worked perfectly.  The only problem is the certificate.

Edit: This is a fresh install, not my main Vista laptop

Download wuweb.dll here: https://download.zip.dll-files.com/c31dce575ee43cfe5ee1bd1b5fb29a8d/wuweb.zip?token=lSKi8NX_M08apicpdMDapw&expires=1663744042 and register it under system32. If you have x64, then under syswow64. Then you have to replace wuaueng.dll, but first you have to change the access permission. Then add the registry entries.

  8. Hello all,
Here is a tutorial on how to run ProxhttpsProxy v1.3a on Windows 2000.

First you need to have Visual c++ 2008 installed. Then download Python 3.4.3 but make sure that you don't have "Pip" selected for installation, otherwise it will fail. When you have everything installed, download "Python fix" and run the fix according to the readme description. Finally, you just need to download ProxhttpsProxy, save the certificate in the root certificate store in the local computer and run the batch file "start proxy". Done!

    Have fun trying
