  1. I tried out 64bit windows and found it ,other than being buggy, no different from xp 32bit. Is vista worth trying yet or am I to wait for the next leaked release. + what's the current best release ?

my hardware is an x2 3800 7800gfx 1gig of ram on nf4 with a sb-xfi. So would i have any joy on the driver front and will i get all the fancy vista transperancy .etc effects?

    thanks,

    g.

  2. I've just installed winxp 64bit and i set my program files location to be on d: but only for my 64bit programs. anyone know what the winsif command for setting the 32bit programs location?

On a side note when i first installed the system my unattended disk somehow corrupted my d: partition and i had to reformat it. good things i had it backed up but usually you can just install safe in the knowledge that only c: will be touched. oh well.

seems you can set it afterwards via the reg

  3. I'm trying to create a win2k cd with this sp5.1 integrated. When i run the exe it does extract a load of files to a d:\something\i386 , do i just copy these into my win2ksource\i386 directory? + can i use this hotfix with nlite? Do i add it as a hotfix or servicepack?

    cheers.

  4. i've now got a strange problem with my xpcreate cd using the august version and all the current hotfixes. The windows logo stage of bootup takes 40 seconds and when installing i get an error that xpctfl104.exe and 105.exe upgrade patch cannot be installed because program is missing. Has anyone else experienced this?

  5. I've split the tweaks into 2 files. might be of use to someone, i've corrected a few things too added all to the changelog.

tested both files. safever and powerver.

just rename the files to .reg and run

    i've found some more duplicates!

moved 8.3 dos filename to power.

    sorted cmd enhancements

changed recommended notepad replacement to scite, same core really

    17/10/05

    PRtwks.txt

    RegTwks.txt

  6. 1. If you get file cannot be accessed at the start of the xpcreate process disable your antivirus. (nod32 caused this problem with me)

    2. Hotfixes aren't integrated unless you edit xpcreate.cmd

replace CALL XPCPRVAR by CALL :SETVARS

    remove CALL XPCTVARS

    ---------------

attached version of xpcreate.cmd with changes

great work gm , i still prefer xpcreate to xplite :)

  7. I just add bts's lan driverpack to the drivers\net folder of bart pe... It contains practically all the lan drivers for xp. I don't know whether bartpe parses down all the folder levels but i've never had it not be able to find a lan driver.

  8. I've now downloaded all the updates after feb 10th (from the msfn updates thread) and i'm wondering if i can get them to work with xpcreate...

    new malware removal tool...

    SVC-MRT\Windows-KB890830-V1.4-ENU.exe

all the other 5 updates in SVC-HF1

i'm going to try them out later this month.
