    WHICH software/driver?

Afaik it does exist logitech drivers version 13.51.823.0 that should be Windows 2000 compatible (even if listed as XP and later).

The above is a "plain" .zip, no installer, no idea if it will work for you.

There is also an earlier version:

Thanks for that. I tried both versions but didn't work. I installed the INF and it shows up in Device Manager but has an asterisk, and camera application doesn't recognize. I tried recording audio using the webcam microphone and that ends up in a blue screen.

I don't completely understand what you're asking, but I can tell you the locations of all the files. Either way, it's useful information.

All DLL files from KB951748 go in C:\WINNT\system32

All DLL files from KB2817183 except vgx.dll go in C:\WINNT\system32

All SYS files from KB951748 go in C:\WINNT\system32\drivers

    vgx.dll goes in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\VGX

Also, here are links to the updates:

    KB2817183 | KB951748

Thanks that's what I wanted to know. I downloaded the KBs you linked and extracted contents of the EXE. I took all the files you mentioned and moved them to the correct folders you said (via Windows 7 on same PC). Sadly it did not work :( it still takes 10 minutes to start up and load network and refuses to log me in saying domain not available. :(

You could connect the drive to another computer, extract the updated files from KB2817183 and KB951748, and replace the old files on the drive with the new ones.

Good idea. But how can I know what those KB updates exactly on the system?

You should have installed KB2817183 and KB951748 before the extended kernel.

Ok thanks. What can I possibly do now if I'm unable to log in? I could just uninstall Extended Kernel but even that seems impossible because Safe Mode doesn't let me in either.

  5. Hi. Please help. I'm completely locked out of my Win2k installation after installing KernelEx.

    I installed the necessary stuff: Win Installer 3.1 Redis. (v2), .NET Framework 1.1 & 2.0 SP2, Visual C++ 2005 SP1 & 2008, KB842773, Update Rollup 1, Update Agent 3.0.

However launching rootsupd_fe44934fd80dd11fec2f0f9b24431658a4f6d589 did nothing. I then opened the Windows Update page on IE6 but the website gave an error.

After this I assumed I need KernelEx first so I installed it (V30e) but after reboot the system takes long to start up, and when finally trying to log in it says The system cannot log you on now because the domain [my computer name] is not available. Even in Safe Mode! So I can't use Win2k at all! What should I do now?
