Apparently, Windows Defender arbitrarily erases dll files it does not like. You have to disable that dumb feature. When I look at the folder in which I stored your files, several of them had a size of 0 bytes, especially the XHCI sys driver.
Strange, maybe some bug, I checked usbxhci.sys file on Virustotal, no antivirus found anything. https://www.virustotal.com/old-browsers/file/3f06a751897751b7469a4a0b7d86bce21a4aa0c6eec1c6096f05ed6cb3ec0c72
Try to re-download or download on another system, my archive is not corrupted, I checked it now, I have Win7, so there is no defender here.0 -

thank for driver but it did not work
It seems that the update has been replaced by a cumulative update, although it is not written about it in the Catalog. Maybe the driver doesn't work on 7** chipset, I checked on 6** chipset, the driver works there. Then, if you can't reinstall the OS in any way, I can only suggest to buy a PCI-E USB3.0 card, but you need to check that there is a branded driver for Win7. Or make a backup copy of the system and reinstall it by updating, this will save the programs.
UPD. KB2864202 replaced by KB3125574.

For USB3 try this driver, you should have the KB2864202 update installed on your system. https://mega.nz/file/GrACwJIY#Xmlc-iRGRd9ZnBZz7dOqDy0qxu_GKaOawfRVIPBEEFw

Any ideas?
Using OneCoreApi injection (not installing OneCoreApi on the system), I was able to run MPC-BE version 1.6.6 (a fork of MPC-HC). It has AV1 and AVS3 codecs, but no hardware acceleration, not even for h264. And because VMR7/9 were removed I have to install madVR. But MPC-HC even with OneCoreApi injection could not start.

Do you know if the KB4539601 (2020-01-31) package is cumulative and replaces the KB4534310 (2020-01-14) package or if both packages must be installed?
Oops, sorry, got the numbers confused, KB4539601 does not replace KB4534310, it complements it. KB4539601 replaces KB4534314. And also it can only be downloaded from the Update Catalog, it's not offered through WU.

Cumulative Framework 3.5.You can open UpdatePack7R2 with 7zip and see the list of required updates. That's what I did, and added a few optional updates as well.
But even after that, the update center still offers updates, some of them replaced but it still offers them, some leftover telemetry updates and updates to Win 10.

Now extensions are installed, but files are still not downloaded. No extensions work to intercept or replace the download. I installed Download Master (Internet Download Accelerator) and enabled the interception of links from the clipboard in it, now if you copy the link, it will be automatically added to the download.

VxKex is for W7 system, no ?
I know, I meant it would be nice to combine the ability of VxKex to intercept system calls without replacing system files and redirect them to OneCoreApi, which will be located in its own folder.

(You still can't download files/extensions).
Yes, that's a problem. But extensions can be installed by enabling developer mode and installing the unpacked extension. Downloading files should be checked, it may be downloading an extension of the download manager or a third-party application such as FDM.
1 hour ago, seven4ever said:Other problem: Core Api is patching the Os SERIOUSLY, not more a real XP after the patch. For sure compatibility problems with other XP applications under core API.
Yes, a solution like VxKex that intercepts system calls rather than replacing system files would be ideal. Because OneCoreApi breaks the operation of some programs.

Any Firefox browser, as well as its forks, Waterfox, Palemoon, can easily be made portable. To do this, make a cmd file in the browser folder with the following line: firefox.exe -Profile "username" If there will be another browser, then accordingly: waterfox.exe -Profile "username"

From a purely technical and compatibility basis, would you guys recommend updating to v117 or sticking to v115 ESR?
I don't think there's much point in keeping v117, even though it's newer in features, but eventually, in a few years both will be equally obsolete. But ESR will eliminate vulnerabilities found during the support period.

is that really true?
I too was surprised to see that there was some sort of update. The good thing is that I have Nightly made portable with its own profile, so updating and corrupting the profile did not damage my data. I had to add a policy to block updates, but it affects all versions of Firefox.

I couldn't find any instructions describing the registry settings, so you'll have to experiment and go through each setting in turn.

Black screen at what stage of booting? In BIOS, before the boot screen, or already in the OS, after the boot screen? If in BIOS, there is no way to solve it, some motherboards are not compatible with USB network cards. If in OS, try this driver, it is newer, the latest for this network card. https://mega.nz/file/mjAAnKib#LoRIhhRdIHxqUjoe07sW-57OsiBwmiKH5Xbsio0ANvg

10 was 10.0 (Windows NT 10.0;) (still is)
It's a marketing name to make users think the kernel is new, in fact it's still 6.x. The kernel is certainly updated, but in fact the difference between Win7 and Win10 is the same as between Vista and Win8.1.

Ignore that it's Win8.1, it's the same on Win7.

Tested it on a motherboard with Z77 chipset, the driver works. But in XP x64 S.M.A.R.T. is not available in CrystalDiskInfo, although in Aida64 it is available, in XP x32 S.M.A.R.T. works both there and there.

I found two nasty bugs in Chromium 115 for XP. First, sometimes it doesn't start, it hangs in processes, but nothing happens, you have to terminate the process and restart it.
Second, the default download folder is "C:\Program Files\Common Files" and it can't be changed, when you click "Change" button, it opens a non-working window. If you enable the setting to always specify the download location, you have to enter the file name manually.
