    Hi,

I have installed the browser Mypal 68 from a zip file thinking it was portable, but it isn't, it copies 2 folders to

C:. Is there a portable version of Mypal 68? Or is there a way to make this already installed version portable?

I don't want any files of this browser on the C: drive.

I have configured the browser as I like it, so I want to keep the settings. In case I can convert it to portable.

In this case, how could I use these settings?

    Thanks.

No it often means nothing if something works in one browser and in another not, as so many people seem to assume. Sometimes yes, but very often not. Not everything depends from the system only, browsers can also bring some own capabilities too.
Especially that encryption/SSL/TLS stuff is contained completely independent inside all Firefoxes and the forks, as I've been told here. Unlike other browsers which fully depend on system capabilities. That's the reason why Firefox forks can still be updated to use TLS1.2 on systems even older as Win98, and other browsers are stuck with what the old system can do.

Yet lots of things which work fine can still fail if they simply aren't enabled in the settings.
Settings are an incredible jungle in FF/gecko, there are over 3000 prefs, and some most important ones not even showing up in aboutconfig, and many cross-influencing each other.
Clean installations also are no guarantee that everything is fully enabled out-of-box, as so many people assume. For example some of roytam's browsers for very old systems, like FF2, are now equipped with TLS1.2, yet out-of-box still have the ancient default setting of max TLS 1.0. Or stuff like hardware-acceleration, those settings are infamous to be helpful on one system yet disastrous on another, so intentionally not always enabled by default.

At any rate, if the map first shows up fine and then vanishes again, the browser CAN do it, and it really doesn't matter what Chrome or the system can. The solution or the workaround to persuade the server to send the tiles must be somewhere in the settings....

Problem solved: MyPal 28.3.1 works fine. So I´m gonna use this browser for now. Swapping browsers when a problem arise in any of them.

BTW, I tried changing the settings as explained before but it didn´t work. On the other hand, some other browsers did work, like old Chrome,

old Firefox and old Maxthon. Weird... because none of roytam1´s latest versions of Pale Moon browser worked on Google Maps.

    Thanks anyway.

Thanks for your replies, but the solutions given could still be viable knowing that, as I said, this problem doesn´t occur with Chrome?

If the problem were hardware acceleration or the graphics card drivers, it should happen also with Chrome, right?

I don´t know about WebGL, but will try the modifications mentioned for about:config.

    Hey guys,

Is there any Volume Control on this browser, or at least any extension for such task, audio volume control and with a Mute feature?

    Thanks!

Just in case anyone is interested, I found an extension which does exactly what I wanted. It mutes and then unmutes any audio source from the browser

with a simple click on a nice icon it places on the status bar. Here is the link for it:

    https://addons.mozilla.org/es/firefox/addon/muter/

But, is there any feature on this browser which already could this? I don´t know, but perhaps through a keys combination...

MyPal 28.0.1 uses same method as my builds do, so please check if your statement still applies.

Sorry to confirm but, this same Twiitter video clip´s audio plays back fine with MyPal, latest version from yesterday, portable installation,

but it plays back distorted with your latest build, portable installation too. Just trying to help:

"PM/NM28XP doesn't use LAV filters from system or av*-lav.dll now."
(So, my suggest below is IRRELEVANT to the problem, enough said)  :)

Here with NM28XP Browser, I do NOT see any problems with TWITTER Video.
In terms of associated distorted AUDIO playback in the MP4 TWITTER Video.
Or with the VIDEO being distorted somehow either.

    http://www.codecguide.com/download_kl.htm
K-Lite Codec Pack -- STANDARD Package used here

    http://www.codecguide.com/download_k-lite_codec_pack_standard.htm
Says: The last version that is compatible with Windows XP SP3 is version 13.8.5

    http://www.codecguide.com/download_kl_old.htm#xp_last_version
So, the STANDARD one is the '2nd One Down' (NOT the FULL one)

My thought here is that the NM28XP Browser is a WinXP OS level Browser.
So, why not try the CODEC PACK that targets WinXP too.
K-Lite 13.8.5 STANDARD is working well here, so far.
And it just got UPDATED in August of 2018.

So, IF I was having problems say with TWITTER Video, I would try using
the K-Lite 13.8.5 STANDARD package. Hope this helps.

MyPal does not have this problem, so the codec pack or codecs in my system should be irrelevant.

    Hi,

I just noticed that the latest version, palemoon-28.1.0a1.win32-git-20180825-74c6c585a-xpmod, plays back audio tracks from

Tweeter videos poorly, they sound like if they were treated with a pitch effect, the pitch is lowered or slowed down.  MyPal

latest version plays them back fine though.

Please, check this problem so it can be fixed.

    Thanks.

OK, so I downloaded the most recent PM28 build and installed it on my new Vista x64 installation, and the interface is horridly unresponsive.

I set it to XP compatibility mode, but it made no difference.

I installed PM26 and copied the PM28 files over it. Could that have caused the problem?

    c

Why do you use Vista? It´s known to be the worst, slowest and most buggy SO ever. If that machine can run Vista, you should

install 7, which is much better, reliable and faster than Vista.

@roytam1 I just tried the new release and am surprised to see that the old default theme is back. Perhaps because of my request?

Thanks anyway! Well, the light blue one could co-exist for people to choose if they want it,.

What I really most want is the option to be able to launch the browser from clicking e-mail links and such in portable mode as

MyPal does. Hopefully you will add this feature one day soon.

    Thanks.

    what about installing a theme?

That would be installing a new different theme, not the old one. I just checked the themes available at Pale Moon´s site, and the old one seems not to be there.

One similar is Fox 2 The Moon, but it is not the same.

Is it possible to copy whichever files form an old version of New Moon to extract the old theme manually and install it over to the latest versions?
