Problem with the autosave macro is that you would have to create the macro for every document rather than having each document saved automatically in a temp file.

Thanks. Some of the reasons I want to keep using word 97: it has a smaller minimizing window than 2003 (which I also have). I like the way it does searches for text better than 2003 It has a better way of bringing up templates from File>New>

I've read that it's possible to use automatic save in word 97 but haven't found any information on how to enable it. Help appreciated.
