I've noticed that when I use MailNews it establish strange connection with server IP 98.184.220.29:80

It seems to be something on a cable provider. Is your E-Mail service provided by Cox, perhaps? Or, are you  loading an E-Mail that is loading remote resources from Cox?

I should note that my installation of MailNews is not making this connection, instead connections to Google, Microsoft, and Yandex. Which makes sense, as my three E-Mail accounts are through those companies.

Though, it would be cool to know why it is keeping connections open to my mail servers, when I have set it to check only every 30 minutes (immediate notifications box is unchecked for all accounts)

  2. That's a TALL order for XP. Vista would be relatively easier, however not easy, and maybe not even fun.

For example, the GTX 1000 series has NO XP support, and Vista drivers exist, however their performance is crippled (I believe DirectX performance, specifically)
as for the other hardware, I cannot speak for specifically, but generally, 4th gen was the last generation that played nicely with XP, and 3rd gen the last for vista (in most cases 4th has vista stability issues.) It seems that you have 9th gen.

  3. Yes. [Althought Its More The Capitalizing Of Every Word Like This, and phonetic swap of some words (know<->no)], than the actual ordering of the letters. It was proven through public postings from you that you lie about being in America. So it's not a stretch that you'd be lying about your age, too.

I did take a minute to navigate 'up' in the directory-structure, and even got to some website/pages, but I still could not find any page describing the installer.  Maybe I just failed to see the right link?

Oh, no... you didn't miss anything. there is no description of it to be found on my site. That's always been something I've planned. But you know. Too many things, not enough time... :(
There is some limited information in this forum thread, but even that needs some time put into it... by no means is it a full writeup.

fyi, the link underlying that URL in your sig is bad.

Thank you. Apparently had I not only been careless updating the link to the new domain, but I evidentally also let the old (free) domain lapse. Both problems are fixed.

ps; also, I couldn't find any description of the .exe on your site, so I did not feel good to download it

I have no idea what you mean.

    Stop using this obsolete crap!

Seems like a bad opinion for someone in the world of old OSes. From a fundamental definition, Old OSes as a whole, and their respective hardware and a significant portion of the software, are indisputably obsolete, as newer things have come along to do the same things the old ones did for almost all scenarios. But nobody here cares,  And that's a good thing. Granted, I do think WMP11 is a truly terrible piece of software, but that has nothing to do with obselence. To be fair, i think we should be respecting his request of a solution to the issue he faces with WMP11, rather than telling him to use something else (even i am guilty of it).

If people here cared about obselescence we'd all be on the 'latest and greatest' OSes on brand new hardware, running the latest versions of any and all software.

  7. Vanilla Windows 7 is only (first party) supported at this point if you pay microsoft for ESU or have some sort of private ($$$$) arrangement. Support in this context does not equal updates, though they would almost always be included in a support contract. Support means the company is supporting the product to the end user(s) (you). Third-Party/Community support? Yes, of course that still is going strong. But just because you're getting new updates on a 7 box does not mean you are supported, per se. As in... if you call microsoft support, they will not help if you are not paying them to do so, at this point.

You see many open source or freeware programs, even frequently updated ones that are "...provided on an AS-IS basis." For all intents and purposes, this is the same scenario.

This is definitely a rant, but there is a (clear) line in the sand to be drawn between updates and support, when you are taking updates intended for another product/payment scenario and putting them on yours.

Sorry, I have no interest in Yandex.

For starters, the portable version I found (17.6.0.1633) requires Win7 as opposed to XP.

And secondly, it's only as new as Chrome 58 [April 2017] whereas 360Chrome v13 is Chrome 86 [October 2020].

But based on file structure of portable 17.6.0.1633, NOPE, the method can NOT be applied to Yandex.

I didn't ask if you did have an interest in Yandex. What I wanted is for you to show how you accomplished using the standard window decorations in 360chrome.

Once you do show how you did it, it is MY plan to try to adapt it to Yandex, as I do not use 360Chrome (and never will).

I don't know if I will get anywhere, but the oppurtunity to try would be most excellent.
