For those who just want blurred titlebars only, such as myself, Curtains gets the job done with less resources than WindowBlinds and I have tried both.

If you are able to blur the title bar, can you describe how you achieved this?  I've got clear title bars with no issues but have yet been able to keep blur intact.  I've created sample images with gaussian blur and they display correctly in photoshop, but upon import to curtains, all blur is removed.

Yeah I bought Curtains. Definitely a worthy purchase. I just played around the titlebar texture I wanted to use in Photoshop to make a blurred transparency and that was it. It works great for me. Sadly, I dont think we'll ever see a real update to this project anymore and can only hope that folks get it going on something open source, as it should have been in the first place.

Were you able to duplicate the blur in the title bars?  I've tried creating a png that keeps blur intact, but no go on my end.

Do you know if is there a way to get glass reflections on windows explorer without Glass8???? I mean real glass effect, the one that "stays" if you drag the window, no the one that is static and moves along the window when you drag it, that one is part of the theme, but Glass8 reflections seems to be loaded "over" the theme. I used to load a png file for my vista reflections on Glass8 and worked like a charm

I'm using Curtains to apply transparency with blur (Acrylic, standard, or basic) to File Explorer windows.  (If I'm reading your question correctly)  Minimal system resource usage, active right now with only 1.1MB of mem in use.  Only thing missing is title bar transparency (It can be done with Curtains too, however, I haven't created an acrylic layer with gaussian blur to be applied to it yet.)  You can apply transparency by way of a transparent .png from the start, I just haven't had the time to create one with blur added.

  4. I just had this yesterday after I turned Win Updates back on and got a cumulative update inadvertently.  I deleted the "symbols" folder in C:AeroGlass, turned off my firewall (temporarily), and clicked "cancel" on the Hook error window...symbols downloaded on the 2nd try.

    I'm running 1903  Build 18362.239

  5. Just wanted to report back...   Since the 1479 experimental release, I have experienced 0 crashes and system seems to run smoothly...as if it is taking no impact on performance (AG extension loader=0.2MB/DWM=22MB)

Thanks for the hard work bigmuscle and looking forward to the final release (Ha...final, that is the wrong word.  It'll never be final because MS keeps jacking it up) ...but thanks for the continuing efforts towards the game of cat-and-mouse.

  6. just got the v1479 exp update...will try and report back.  Thanks in advance

    **UPDATE**

No crashes on taskview launch now...working great so far.   Thanks for the super fast exp release!!!

  7. Nope.  I can understand everything on the website just fine.  Everything is well printed with no spelling errors... Just giving some feedback.  I didn't demand to know why or complain to you BM.  Sure...there's no blur, now lets move on.

Lol...just went for RS3 that will have a ton of the UI redone with Fluent Design/Project Neon. With any luck, we wont need 3rd party apps for transparency again. No dig to you, BM. You've done a great job with this project, it would just be nice to have native functionality.

I was just researching and reading about the Fluent Design/Project NEON stuff.  I'm really looking forward to seeing these changes implemented and keeping the UI  moving forward.  Although I have thoroughly enjoyed (and still do) the Aeroglass 1.5.3 app and I appreciate EVERYTHING that bigmuscle and supporting members have put into it, I'm excited for native transparency throughout the entire OS...but like you said raiden89, not needing 3rd party apps for transparency is long overdue.

Windows updated, 14393.953, DWM doesn't know how to hook (0x5). AG works correctly though.

How can I fix this notification ?

I had this same window appear every time I opened any modern app, ie: settings, system, personalization...etc.   If I closed the cmd window, then the system app window would close too.  I just deleted the modernframe.dll from aeroglass folder and it went away...along with aeroglass on modern apps.  I still have aero, just not on any modern apps.

  11. This seems like the most obvious place for this question since it is related to aeroglass/transparency..if not, please move to appropriate location.  Does anyone know how to, or has ever, tweaked the transparency level (made lighter) of the default start menu for Win10?  I've done the Start10 thing, which lets you adjust the level of transparency for the two other menu styles (ie, W7 and W8 versions) but I'd like to keep using the Windows 10 start menu, but make it lighter.  I've done the registry tweaks to enable/disable blur, which helps a bit but I want to keep the blur as it matches well with the BM AeroGlass settings I have in place.  I tried using Resource Hacker to identify which registry items are tied to the transparency slider in Start10 but I had no such luck.  Thanks for any info or help an advance.
