    In any case, the behavior of your PC is not OK, the hard drive, memory, power supply and the motherboard (any defective leaked and bloated capacitors) should even be reviewed. Maybe there are too many operating systems within a partition where not quite like. Remote diagnosis is difficult and one can only guess.

    Many greetings from Germany  :)

    Downloading Update for IE8 should have the following size: 10.1 MB (10,608,368 bytes) Otherwise me the problem of very slow WSUS Catalog known best download the update again. Have you ever looked at whether software update KB3033890 is installed and/or "C:\Windows\system32" should at "wmp.dll" file version "11.0.5721.5293" exist? (Think you have Media Player 11)

    file version by WM9 "9.00.00.4513" and by WM10 "10.0.0.4092"

    by IE8 file "mshtml.dll" file version "8.0.6001.23687"

    (The behavior is strange, hopefully not a hardware failure. Which anti-virus / malware protection programs do you have?)

    :)

    Have the English language updates KB3033890 for Media Player 9/10/11, as KB3058515 for IE 6/7/8  loaded down and have it looked at, no abnormalities during installation could tell. KB3033890 ENU is completely error-free, does not even have a lock on Windows XP. (Have the language changed in the updates to install them in a German Windows XP, with the success that the IE is more or less in English, all under VMware) Maybe you try it once manually install the updates and more accurate information about the error message. Remember matches the KB3033890 with the version installed media player on the system.

    :)

  4. @zach1

    This is correct, the text in brackets is a translation of the entry in English, but is dependent on the language version of the update.
    These are the red marked places where a string or variable does not exist, but a different, matching the value that differs in the end with _S!

    (sorry my english is not so good)

    :)

  5. Oh my god (for all non-english Windows XP Users on 06/17/2015 released KB3033890),
    i have found in KB3033890 again 1 error on "update.inf" on follow section:

    [Product.Add.Reg]
    HKLM,%UpdateRegKey%\%US_Product_Name%\%SP_SHORT_TITLE%, "ReleaseType",, %KB_Release_Type%

    The String KB_Release_Type under section [strings] not exist,
    also the String KB_Release_Type_S = "Aktualizacja zabezpieczeñ" exist!
    (The language of the update corresponding entry KB_Release_Type_S = "Security Update")

    This is only a cosmetic problem, not a functionell!

    :no: Oh Microsoft, what I think:

    O Lord, let grass grow, the cattle-critters to proliferate!

    Greetings  :lol:

    Note: The error actually exists, but this post is more ironic.
  6. For all non-English users who have a problem with the installation from KB3033890! First the following links with "Internet Explorer" (other browsers are not happily accept) the packages Download.

    http://catalog.update.microsoft.com/v7/site/Search.aspx?q=KB3033890%20Posreadyhttp://catalog.update.microsoft.com/v7/site/Search.aspx?q=KB3057839%20Posready

    Then extract the packages using the command line parameter "-x". Now copy from KB3057839 to KB3033890 the files "spmsg.dll" and "spuninst.exe", in the "update" directory the files "update.exe" and "updspapi.dll".

    In KB3033890 in directory update "update.exe" Run and install.

    (Remember this is just the right with the Media Player installed updates to installed Media Player version on your system!)

    Have fun!  :realmad:

  7. Moderator Edit:
    The download for the latest (1.6) version of Heinoganda's root certificates and revoked certificates update utility is here -
    The archive password is: S4QH5TIefi7m9n1XLyTIZ3V5hSv4se1XB6jJZpH5TfB6vkJ8hfRxU7DWB2p

    Note that the utility will also work on Windows Vista, but will have to be run as an administrator.

    I hereby would like to offer a way to keep the roots certificates and the revoked certificates up to date.
    For the security of Windows XP after the last condition no official patches more for blocking div. Roots certificates and certificate update available.
    For revoked Certificate Update "rvkroots.exe" Microsoft download (http://www.microsoft.com/download/details.aspx?id=41542), unzip to a folder (e.g. with WinRAR). In "rvkroots.inf" the entry in the string VERSION should be changed to "5,0,2195,0" and the VER entry changed to "005". The next step is download the "http://www.download.windowsupdate.com/msdownload/update/v3/static/trustedr/en/disallowedcert.sst" and paste the unzipped folder and replace older file. Then with e.g. (Create Self-Extracting Archive) WinRAR all files in the folder to an archive option SFX with the following comment:
    TempMode
    Silent=1
    Overwrite=1
    Setup=Rundll32.exe advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection rvkroots.inf,DefaultInstall

    pack and you have a current update for blocking unsafe Certificates!

    For Root Certificate Update "rootsupd.exe" Microsoft download (http://www.download.windowsupdate.com/msdownload/update/v3/static/trustedr/en/rootsupd.exe), unzip to a folder (eg with WinRAR), in "rootsupd.inf" entry in the string VERSION should "40,0,2195,0" loud and in VER "040" , In the next step,
    "http://www.download.windowsupdate.com/msdownload/update/v3/static/trustedr/en/updroots.sst" download and paste the unzipped folder and replace older files. Then with e.g. (Create Self-Extracting Archive) WinRAR all files in the folder to an archive option SFX with the following comment:
    TempMode
    Silent=1
    Overwrite=1
    Setup=Rundll32.exe advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection rootsupd.inf,DefaultInstall

    pack and you have a current root certificate update!

    For all languages!

    If you do approximately every 3 months.

    To re-update extends the generated SFX files to open with WinRAR and drag to the archives newer downloads (.sst files) by drag and drop into it.

    Microsoft wants Subsequent addition of March patch day a new update for KB3013455 and KB3037639, for operating systems have had problems with the font smoothing. I had heard so on a Microsoft blog, where many angry users writing down their frustrations. Whether then a new version number is relevant? See this only as a last resort.

    Yes, the harkaz code is the correctly code to fix all languages!

    Have yourself first your code tries on the German version of win32k.sys, where in all the font smoothing have been disabled. With harkaz code has then for font smoothing is working again! In harkaz patched win32k.sys, I looked at myself in the HEX editor and compared with the original Microsoft my enlightenment came the 2 codes (F7 and 17) there is a difference.
